i remember David Jones doing really when he went on loan to Holland - always wondered why he didn't get to make that move permanent, because from all accounts he was a pretty valuable member of the team then (think it was at NEC?)

He is a proven winner How many coaches can say that nowdays? You have a point, his track record speaks for itself I've just got a problem with Rafa the person tbh, his time at LFC and his debacle at Inter rubbed me up the wrong way

same think Richards is a far better CB than Jones if you want someone in there for cover and tbh he's probably a better player to bring in from the cold Jones (imo) needs games to build momentum and without that he does look a tad nervy proper gutted for Richards though, its now 2 managers that have overlooked him, i reckon he might retire from international duty

read somewhere that Yaya said on Spanish radio that he's still in love with Barca and it's the only club close to his heart so i guess that door always remains open, but for someone in his position i doubt it'd be for the money, don't think he'd get City wages anywhere else tbh

what i've been saying for the longest

i have my doubts if England can even get out of that group tbh judging by the squad im not Carrick's biggest fan but the par of having Henderson in ahead of him on standby is strong and Johnson ahead of Lennon on form even with his injuries

Grant Holt should be in that squad ahead of Andy Carroll on the strength of the whole season, you cant be taking players like Carroll to the Euro's on the strength of a few games imo but i guess with Defoe in the bunch you couldn't really have 2 target men in there Defoe too is a bit of an odd one but i guess he's a good option to come off the bench etc Downing is a terrible terrible selection though, he's looks shockingly average all season and probs not played well since his Boro/Villa days, Hodgson must have just pick him cause he's left footed feel for Micah Richards though, think he's a better CB than Jones and should be in there for the cover but yeah, that squad is a bit limp wristed imo, no cutting edge, no bite could be a looooooooong summer
