It was probably put forward by the girl's defence (Chelsea) that the knife wasn't hers, and that she felt she would be stabbed herself because the two girls were having a scuffle that was so volatile, anything could have happened, in other words it was either her or the other girl. They probably backed this argument based on the dead girl's propensity to do such a thing (her nickname was "pitbull" for instance, which doesn't indicate an angel) and perhaps other things she's done/said etc. All this lead the jury to believe that it actually was an act of survival.To me that is ridiculous. Unless they come to me and say, "Boom, this kitchen knife set from Sian's yard usually holds 5 knives. As you can see, this knife is the missing knife" I aint having that.Boy, something really wrong has happened there. I dont want to call it racism, but this seems like a miscarriage to me. There was another high-profile stabbing this year of a white man, too. The murder of Harry Potter "star" Robert Knox.

I read the case. The girl seems to have been acquitted on the absolute defence of self-defence. Like it or lump it...it's correct that she's free.
