In places like Haringey the Social Workers aren't the best to say the least, especially after Climbie nobody wants to work there. So the situation ends up as half wit young people and old people who refuse to work the system in the new way i.e. the new computer systems. They're so used to doing it the old way they complete half arsed reports and obviously anybody who knows about the current state of SS knows that for every 2 hours of contact with a child there's 12 hours paperwork. They didn't complete basic checks such as in between the fingers of the kid, taking the nappy off and wiping it's face to remove the chocolate which was covering his marks and bruises. Abusive mothers are very deceptive and unless you are a proper SW you aren't going to be able to see through it. Every person involved with this case especially the ones who completed the 60 visits prior to the kid dying should be fired. Not a single one of them did the checks properly or they would have found out what was going on. One of the workers were supposed to have told the line manager that the child is going to die... so why wasn't he taken out of the home? Because too many SW are scared to remove the child because they're too busy filling in paperwork and too scared to live up to the "all they do is take your child away" bollocks. The line manager should be sacked, the people who did the visits should be sacked, the paediatrician should be sacked and any other person who didn't follow the guidelines that "The welfare of the child is paramount" should be sacked. That poor f*ck*ng kid didn't stand a chance with half arsed workers around it and the mum and the lodger should be put in a mental institution.

I think it's a bit doomed to fail the whole thing tbh because Bush went into power with a budget surplus and was still hated and Obama is going in with a f*ck*ng huge deficit, so either way something bad is going to happen and he will be the fall guy.
