  1. The guy proposed in public, so people are going to discuss it. Why are you getting so sensitive when it comes to these topics? Are you in the sunken place too?
  2. Before or after they found out he wasn’t a terrori- I mean Muslim?
  3. Can’t believe Pep hasn’t been in a CL final since 2011. That includes a Barcelona and Munich team at their peak and now potentially crashing out of the quarters with a top City team. Did Messi and co carry his career?
  4. Even though City’s defence was trash, all those Sterling misses were unforgivable and why he isn’t world class.
  5. Got to give Jose credit. 2-0 down away from home in a derby and now he’s turned it around?
  6. Wasn’t gonna say anything still. But these horror stories (fiction and non-fiction) are putting me right off marriage.
  7. http://www.theweek.co.uk/92743/sugar-tax-anti-obesity-measure-takes-effect Levy will add 18p or 24p to a litre of some soft drinks, depending on their sugar content The price of some soft drinks will rise today as the Government’s long-awaited sugar tax is implemented. The new measure, designed to tackle the obesity crisis, will apply a levy of 18p a litre to drinks with more than 5g of sugar per 100ml and 24p for those containing more than 8g per 100ml. This means the cost of a 330ml can of original Coca-Cola, containing around seven teaspoons of sugar, is likely to rise by around 8p plus VAT, according to ITV News. Campaigners say the move will lead to consumers making healthier choices and help ease the burden on the NHS. It is also expected to raise more than £275m per year for the Treasury. Several soft drinks companies have already reduced the sugar content of their products to avoid the tax, often opting for artificial sweeteners instead. But this hasn’t gone down well with some consumers, with reports of shoppers stockpiling Irn Bru ahead of the recipe change. “I would far rather pay more for a bottle than have an altered recipe version,” Ryan Allan, who launched a petition to stop the change, told the BBC. "I believe that a responsible adult should have the choice as to what poisons they want to put in their body.” Thoughts?
  8. This whole thread can be summed up in under 3 minutes.
  9. And then look at how the FA dealt with the Eni Aluko racism. When you look at the executives (where coviniently there are no group photos on their official website) it’s no different then UEFA. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/oct/19/minister-labour-lost-confidence-fa-eni-aluko-affair When Greg Clarke describes institutional racism as “fluff”and Martin Glenn compares the Star of David to the Nazi Swastika, I don’t know why any black player would choose to play for England. From top to bottom, it’s run by archaic dinosaurs who couldn’t give a toss about representation.
  10. Whilst I think the “Rooney Rule” they’ve adopted in the NFL is flawed, it’s a step in the right direction for employing more black managers. How can that sport, that has mostly black players, have such a small representation in terms of managerial roles and ownership? The usual deflection when questions such as these are asked, usually start off as “black managers don’t have the experience, intelligence,” etc. Anything to dismiss the outright racism. Recently Michy Batshuayi was racially abused during a Europa game and UEFA dropped the investigation against the fans. lt won’t let me copy a link to the picture but just go here: https://www.uefa.com/insideuefa/about-uefa/executive-committee/index.html#/#Members And look at all the members of this board. Not difficult to see why no further action was taken. But of course, I’m just a black man whining about nothing. Someone on twitter actually had the gall to say “it’s about diversity of race is not important but diversity of ideas is.” You couldn’t make it up. It’s no different than “Kick It Out”. Look at the members there, which ironically just goes to show how pointless Kick It Out is.
  11. Don’t ask such asinine questions. When there’s a clear lack of representation in any field of work at the top level, then making reductive posts such as yours are just puerile. There’s systematic discrimination in the FA, which makes it harder for a lot of black players to transition into managerial roles compared to their white counterparts. So a sizeable number of them end up becoming pundits. And even when they do get the chance, they rarely get many others if they fail once. When people like Pardew, Allardyce, Mark Hughes and others get rewarded for their failures time after time, there’s clearly a good ol’ boys club in place. But of course you’d rather reduce it to “well what black managers should be hired?” As if it’s as simple as that. Of course the local rent boy @Thizz had to take a typical snide jab. Not surprising of his kind.
  12. Pardew “leaves” West Brom but no doubt he’ll get hired again soon via the good ol’ boys club. And yet, black managers are not even getting a sniff at the top level.
  13. This situation isn’t funny but:
  14. That is true. The bottom line is that we were not the jurors. It’s wrong that the WhatsApp messages were leaked/obtained to/by the press because now we have this Lynch mob. Completely wrong in my opinion. There’s nothing wrong with protesting a verdict but considering the circumstances around this case (and all rape cases), the evidence should be concealed and the identities of the defendants should not be revealed unless they’re found guilty.
  15. I look forward to my unauthorised biography you plan to release.
  16. Some buck dancing Toms and their thirst for Beckies know no bounds. He actually went back to her after getting parred the first time.
  17. ‘Bullet got your name on it:’ Video of Fabolous yelling at girlfriend and her dad surfaces https://www.ajc.com/news/world/bullet-got-your-name-video-fabolous-yelling-girlfriend-and-her-dad-surfaces/C0zzogOhZmAX3bDh83oolO/new.html Let Fabolous do that to any of my female relatives, he’d be laying in hearse and not in a Bach.
  18. She’s an opressed blonde white woman using the medium of rap to express her struggles. I beg you stop hating.
  19. Powerful #IBelieveHer rallies took place all over Ireland today IN THE HOURS that followed the ‘not guilty’ verdicts in the Ulster Rugby rape trial, word landed that rallies would take place around the county the following day in response to the treatment of women within the justice system. And this afternoon, hundreds of members of the public gathered at demonstrations in cities around the country. In Cork, Dublin, Waterford, Galway and Belfast, individuals carrying ”I believe her’ placards chanted ‘we stand with her’ as conversation surrounding consent and victim-blaming took center stage in the nation’s consciousness. Here is a snapshot of the scenes taking place the length and breadth of Ireland today. http://www.dailyedge.ie/solidarity-demonstrations-3931180-Mar2018/
  20. There was a lot more I wanted put in the initial post but the story upset me so much, I left it abruptly. I wasn’t initially going to post this story in this thread because as you and others stated, having lesbians adopt black children and having two gay parents have a surrogate carry their child, are not at all the same. However, since the discussion had veered off into this territory, I posted it here. I agree that terrible parenting can happen in all different households, my issue is why did no one find it suspicious that a white lesbian couple keep on adopting black children? Three of them were from the same family so that’s plausible but then an additional three? It seems more than a oversight and pure neglect on social services’ part. I’ve read and seen from people who work in social services, that because black children are the least valued when it comes to adoption, they’re more easily “fobbed off” onto gay parents. As messed up as it sounds it does plausible. Again, whilst the news is still early, it seems highly likely it was murder suicide. The amount of chances this couple had been given, there’s no way a black parent(s) would be afforded those same chances. These children were clearly distressed but if you look into it, the couple’s race, gender and sexuality seemed to afford protection from scrutiny that a black family wouldn’t have. Also, in my initial post, there’s a tweet of the viral picture in which one of the children is hugging a police officer during the protests against a police shooting of an unarmed black man. You can see how distressed he looks not just in that photo but others, as if he was forced to do so. Theres a lot more to add but I’ll leave it there for now.
  21. Wow. Some posts are so shockingly myopic, it has to be deconstructed sentence by sentence. 1. Comparing strains of weed to the human species is so asinine, it doesn’t warrant another sentence. 2. Brazil being good a football due to their “mixed genetics” is silly. What metrics are we using? World cups won? World players of the year? By that logic, England should be in the finals of every tournament, our team looks like every Christmas ad. Argentina, Germany, Spain have been dominating in world football for decades. Is that genetic too? Cultural reasons play a bigger part in why countries dominate certain sports, Jamaicans run the 100m sprint and yet no one else within the Carribean comes close. Black Americans dominate basketball but not soccer. Again, culture plays a large part of that. 3. “Nicest” females are subjective. 4. Again, comparing breeds of dogs to humans is silly. You’d have more credence if you were looking at different breeds of apes as they’re our closest relatives. i have a feeling I’ve been trolled now.
  22. This story has really fucked up my morning. There’s so much wrong with this. How were the flags not raised when a white lesbian couple kept on adopting black children? In 2011 one of the parents was sentenced to probation for assaulting one of their daughters and yet they still kept their children? Do you know how quick social services are quick to strip black children from their black families? Numerous times neighbours had reported them for child neglect and still nothing happened? Argh... I’m too pissed off to type more but here’s a paper trail if anyone can stomach it. Devils. http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2018/03/hart_family_deadly_crash_a_tim.html
