APPRECIATION REASON: Atjazz is the reason I pushed to become a dj; from the minute I heard ‘Find Illusion’ feat Alison Crockett and I found out he lived in the UK, I pushed myself to be just as great. His style and creativity is so distinctive that will just tell you the minute you see the name Atjazz – it’s bound to be a banging tune!!
Atjazz (Martin Iveson) is a British composer who resides in Derby and is primarily known for his audio work within the video game industry. His work is famously known on a series of Tomb Raider games and Fighting Force. After 13 years, Atjazz later moved from the video gaming industry to channel his musical aspirations further. With his distinctive sounds, Atjazz saw early success from the release of the ‘Story’ EP in 1996 and later became one of the top 5 producers and remixers in the House scene. Atjazz states that “remixing helps to hone your sound and allows the producer to print their trademark into another space”. In 2009, Atjazz brought the label Mantis Recordings to a close to later follow the birth of Atjazz Recording Company which has flown to great heights working with producers such as Karizma, Julian Gomes, At One, Simbad, Si Tew and many more.
