But I know who DND are. They are one of the best producers in england. They are the people the northerners copied and renamed a scene for.DND = The gods to northerners.

not even gonna read the whole topic but wen it was blowing up and i stil dj'd grime i dint like it but i dint hate it then i started to like it more mostly to the producers improving their beats etc and the sound evolving slightly but i jus think the hate is because the grime scenes dying and the london heads dont like the fact that another scene up north is blowing upfunny thing is u london heads dint want us northern heads to have anythin to do with the grime scene sayin we cant spit etcbut anyways f*ck LONDONf*ck GRIME (EVEN IF I STIL PLAY IT FROM TIME 2 TIME)f*ck ANY FOOTBALL TEAM FROM LONDON SPESH ARSENAL N CHELSEAf*ck THEIR ACCENTS f*ck THE PEOPLESHAG THE WOMEN

at the end of the day bassline/niche what ever u wanna call it is a totally different and new scene which u cant deny....i like ukg but i dont particularly like 90% of baseline tracksi can sit thru a whole 3 hour set of ukg/4x4/2step but i couldnt jam at home to a bassline cd....it is deffinatly not the same... its an evolution, but its not the same.....

BloodyhellIF YOU DONT LIKE IT DONT LISTEN TO ITIF IT'S sh*t THEN IT WONT GET NOWHERE THEN INITsimple tings
See this is another thing that annoys me.Certain people just dont get it.The majority of heads aren't saying its sh*t, they're saying its not much different from garage so stop tryin to claim it as a different genre.

Listen.I use to have the same arguments with people about niche being a club not a sound and it being very similar to garage blah blahNow I aint even arsed what people call it; garage, 4x4, niche, glasshouse whatever. It's stuck now, just like what happened with 'grime'Plus the raves attract gyal that went into hiding during the grime times so all is live for me anyway.Though I'll admit, no genre can match the hype of grime!

See the name aint really stuck, its only you northeners that call it this..Look on Juno its called "speed garage/bassline". HTFR calls it "uk garage & 2 step"
and the media calls pretty ricky gangsta rap. bassline is acceptable and maybe even speed garage but ukg and 2step are WAY off the mark

You can hardly compare the media to a couple of the biggest dance record stores..edit* I stand corrected though, HTFR is now calling it 'Niche/4x4' (as a subgenre of "uk garage and 2 step" though obviously)
