ok so how can i be talkign to some girl and she asked where im from and i said england. and where i was born, and she said where are ur parents from, so i said dad here mum guyana. and she says so ur guyanaese.i said no im english she said ur mum is guyanese so u are too i said no thats not right. im english i have a uk passport and im born here.she said well my parents are from antigua and jamaica so im those. i said was u born hereyesso your english thenno, im not im bla bla bla (thats all i was hearing by this point) basically she was sayin to me she would never admit and claim to being british, tho being born and raised here have a uk passport never been to any of her parents countries. etc etc and she said i was deep for claiming im english. and all this crap. then i thought, i have met a few people like this. who wont say they are english.bare in mind this girl (woman) was like 25/26 and not some young girl just about to go to her 1st carnival. WHAT THE f*ck????????

lol thats madness....and did i read corrctly and you said she has neva been to her "home countries" ?Blacked_out got it right this woman is deludedfrom time u got a english passport you're british!
Being british is about more than a passport. Do you mean British exclusively?

Wherever you are born, that is your nationality.
Not always.Where your born, is simply where your born. It can mean more, or it can mean less.If i was born in Mongolia, but moved to UK 2weeks later, i doubt i would be considered a Mongolian National. It has something to do with being a citizen of a nation to make that your nationality. What about Kurds aswell. They have no physical Nationality as in a country with physical borders so how would one be Kurdish? It's more than where you are born in some cases.

i ment that from time your born here and have british passport ur british!you tick the box what says "british" when you fill your form in... being British doesnt mean you have to be white...in that girls case she is a british person with roots in jamacia and (my bad i forgot the other country she from..read quite a lot of threads since this one...excuse this) so yeah she is a british person with ethnic roots some were else....as have i and most people in this country...

No it isnt.Duel nationality you are speaking about. I'm talking about your no.1 nationality, that is where you are born.I could play for Spain if i wanted to, but i'm not Spanish.
