People already at uni (1st year)what grades you been gettingi'm shocked at whats seen as a 'good grade' in terms of getting a first when you only get like 70%
Well, that is good. In my course handbook, 70% displays excellent undertsanding and handling of the question. So much so, that the next brackt which is 80% says it is possibly better than what the lecturer could do. From time lecturers are writing boks YOU use to write assignments from, a 70% is good.
people laugh at 40% being the pass markgettin that 40% especially in engineering is f*ck off hard, harder in an exami kno in essay based subjects gettin a first is difficult, cos it all depends on what each lecturer expects, and their own style of writingin maths an engineering coursework in particular, you are right or you are wrong, you know before you hand it in if its wrong, and if your not slack you can be gettin close to 100% a lot of the time
I am reading Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Maths in college. There is no chance for me to do law in university then?
Get good grades in them and yeah you can.
I can't tell if you are being serious or not... but those subjects have no relevance to law?
What you learn in A Level law is basically the same as a 3 month semester module at uni. Basically, you dont NEED to do any specific A Levels, but having a general interest in English Language, Literature and sociology shows you have a basis for a career in law.
I wouldn't even bother studying law at undergrad. Might as well do the GDL course that I'm currently doing. Higher calibre of students than undergraduate law degrees too.

its a misconception that u need to study things like english, politics or history to study law at universityu dont need a particular a level, anyone can applymy friends study law at like birmingham, ucl and manchester and its REALLY difficult.i did a module of contract law in my first year, and its boring as f*ck too. beware just how boring it is, cuz its 3 years of your lifeand yeh i agree with teh poster above. u'd prob be better off just doing a conversion course after your degree, it takes a little bit longer but its prob better than studying a really boring subject for 3 years
Laws not THAT hard, even though im getting a 2:2, ive actually been working about 70% less than your meant to be working. Contract law is boring as f*ck but other modules are very interesting. Conversion courses are sh*t. You get looked down on in the industry. End of the day, theres never and job security if you know someone with a 2:2 can take your job, no matter how well yo are performing. And believe me, law firms will drop you like ANYTHING.There are NO shortcuts.
i would like to sayUNIVERSITY IS f*ckIN HEAVYi wouldnt change it for anythingu meet so many characters that u would never even bother to talk to in ordinary lifemake thE ABSOLUTE most of the first yr, was reminiscing about it last nite, sickpyjama parties, halloween parties, end of yr parties rumours success failure poverty loan droppinits all large
I havent handed in my UCAS form yet is this bad?when is the offcial deadline date?
Probably the beginning to middle fo January. I did my application the second time round about 4 days before the deadline. And like Smaddy said, uni is live. I mean I can't wait to be done with all teh assignments and that, but I have enjoyed myself and will miss it when I leave.Oh and mandem, if you hear about pyjama parties and it is an open invitation ting, make sure you go. Titties and backoffs everywhere. And assuming you're not in a relationship, take advantage of having yoru own place and try and lash as much as possible. Try and be low key about it though, that way you'll keep hitting wiht no one cockblocking.

I love it when people talk sh*t like this.I can tell you now brother, everyone on my course has more chance of pupillage than you will EVER have (if you are that same bredda that goes to London Met). Most people on my course already have TCs with Magic Circle firms such as Allen and Overy and Slughter and May. The course is FULL of Oxbridge students. Whoever has informed you that conversion courses are sh*t has grossly MISINFORMED you.I'm not even being snobby about it, I am just telling you straight up and down about the facts. And I KNOW what I'm talking about.
man stayed on de hav in my 1st yr, was alot still dis yr man went 2 chek it out it looks so deadout...ona side note ne 1 witness da stabbin on de hav last week??
Trusay, De Hav was defenitely live this time last year.I went to see some chick a few weeks ago on De hav and I told her the same aswell. "It dont seem live now as when I was a first year."But over the past few weeks, it has defenitely picked up. I'm seeing a few more people come out their rooms and I've noticed much more De Hav chicks roaming about.Yeh, I heard about stabbing aswell. Beef happened on the De hav campus but apparently it started from Kandi Bar.

Its near enough impossible to get above a 70 in law. Literally. Most people are over happy with 60% or slightly higher.
