Too many problems with my parents.Don't really speak to my Dad anymore, he sat me down one time and told me that he's not gonna be the one around when there problems for me. From then haven't really spoke to him other than hello's and bye's. He never really done any father like things really. He seemed to forget about me when I was about 12. I find him embarrasing aswell, he's always going on his racist rants and his closed minded statements. I have respect how he slaved to look after the family but that's about it.Mum I try to avoid, we got personal arguements that won't ever end I don't think.
Wow pretty much sums up my situation. My little brother died of cancer when I was 12 and in an unrelated event I had given a teacher back chat or some stupid thing as you do when your little and my dad comes out with if you ever do it again I will put you in a grave with your brother. Looking back on it I think he went way too far, and there are numerous incidents like it.

I wouldnt even answer back in a rude way to my mum, let alone even THINK of doing this.I think this a white thing, ive seen it with my own eyes
Same.@ The people saying they don't have to show unrequited respect to their parents if they don't feel they get the same...let me ask you this:Who has bathed you since you were born, who has fed you, put a roof over your head, argued with your teachers when they tried holding you back in school (or argued when you got in trouble/suspended), fought your corner in nearly everything, clothed you, taken the stupid mood swings you all had through your teen years, spent unbelievable amounts of money on you gotten, you that toy you really wanted as a kid..ETC.I find the people who are most ready to talk back and see themselves on the SAME LEVEL as their parents (when its clearly not the case), are those who are most disrespectful and immature.I never appreciated my parents (my dad especially) until I was much older. Once I had experienced a fraction of what he had, my respect for him went through the roof.
My sentiments exactly, especially the 2nd bit. I think that happens when people dont see their parents as smart them for whatever reason (mainly 'cause certain parents dont keep up with the times or came over here ignorant)But hey, maybe I'm talking like this 'cause my parents have done a fine job and not done anything to make me lose respect for them no matter how old fashioned there thoughts are

Not everyones parents are sugar and candy. Just because your own are as good as gold and fit parents does not mean everyones parents are. Do not be so quick to judge others until you know their circumstances. @ marlon mostly.

'Mostly' leaves room for that possibly including me.

i would never hit my mum...i just have too much respect for her. If she gets to me i'll just walk away my dad on the other hand i have hit...he was abusive towards her before i was born and pushed her down stairs when she was pregnant with me...he then swung for her once when i was like 15/16 so standardly i swung for him back

Tis true.I swore at my uncle (well more like a verbal barrage) because he pissed me off with some of his actions and everyone on my dad's side of my extended family got to know. For a while I was seen as the Devil incarnate.
