Italian giants Juventus are closing in on a deal to sign Aston Villa defender Olof Mellberg at the end of the season. The 30-year-old Swedish international spent three years at Racing Santander before joining Villa in 2001.Juve sporting director Alessio Secco said: "Mellberg is close to signing a preliminary agreement. If all goes well he will become a Juve player in July."Juventus are also reported to to be interested in Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko.Juve coach Claudio Ranieri, the former Chelsea boss, worked with Sissoko at Valencia.Seccon added: "We haven't ruled out the possibility of him joining us in the transfer window."
Thought he said he didnt wanna go, would be a big loss for Villa if he did.

Yeh.Been nailed on for a while.Fair play to him, gave his best years to us when we were sh*t.Very loyal, he deserves this, his last chance at a big move.It won't be a massive loss though, hes a fantastic centre half, but only a slightly above average RB IMO, and I'm sure MON will get round to signing a RB eventually..

bumpedbecause today will be his last game (most likely)going to Juve for 850k immediatly, as they are in desperate need of defenders.same thing happened with shaun maloneys move to us last jan, we signed him on a pre contract, then 2 days later got him for just under 1million as an immediate transfer.we will definately sign a rb this window now, probably chimbonda.but....THANK YOU OLOF! YOU ARE A LEGEND!one of my favourite players, met him a few times and hes a very sound geezer.always comes to clap the holte after every game, win lose or draw.he gave us his best years when we were sh*t, im glad for him.i will sing my heart out for him all game today, he deserves it!
