Are talented young players being exploited too early ?

27164.jpgAfter the news of Ronaldoâs potential career ending injury I would just like to ask the question are talented young players being exploited too early?Age in todayâs game is more significant than any other era and alot of youngsters who are put in the mould of potential stars are eventually required to play in the 1st team as soon as possible to gain the so called word â experience â, although this may sound relevant for the players career im slightly concerned that how many games there playing to get this experience, is more always better?. Professional football is a very physical game and can be mentally draining for a young player which can be caused by such things as the media and pressure to perform to your abilities, but you have to take into account alot of young players bodies havenât developed fully and it is difficult on the muscles to withstand this sort of intense situations and eventually leads to bad injuries which in effect harms there development and shortens there career or you could say they are hitting their prime to early, there needs to be a little bit of leeway given to youngsters today thereâs no rush for a 18 year old for example to be chucked into the deep end and develop so quick because only the exceptional talents will sometimes relish the challenge.Itâs a sad sight when you see such players like Ronaldo in such a sorry state when he should have enjoyed a nice end to his career and should managers be responsible for controlling the extra ordinary talents to make sure they fulfil every year of their career? When you take a look at Juninho Pernambucano whose a year older then Ronaldo and currently playing to a decent level for Lyon and has so for the past couple of years you just have to look at his past he really hit the scene quite late but has a good couple of years left in him still with that burning desire to still play unlike another Brazilian Ronaldinho. Letâs just hope that the current generation of young players like Cesc and Messi can get the most out of their career and still keep their hunger for the game. What are your thoughts on this? You can leave a comment here if you wish http://northlondonpride.wordpress.comThanks

Milan missed the chance to move into the Champions League places after being held to a 1-1 home draw by Livorno, as Ronaldo was carried off with a knee injury that could see him out of action for a year. More StoriesMatchcast: Milan v Livorno Brazil striker Ronaldo ruptured a ligament in his left knee during the match and must undergo surgery. The three-times World Player of the Year was carried off in tears after going down badly in the 59th minute. The 31-year-old, who has hardly featured this season because of a series of injuries, had only come on as a substitute three minutes earlier."AC Milan communicate that after the first checks made at the Galeazzi hospital in Milan a rupture to his kneecap ligament was found in his left knee," the club said. The Brazilian sustained two serious injuries to his right knee while playing for Inter Milan in 1999 and 2000 but recovered to help Brazil win the 2002 World Cup."We're all very sad and worried about what happened to Ronaldo," Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti said."I don't want to say his career is over because only time can put the word end to his career. From our part, we can only stay close to him. His team mates left the stadium quickly to reach the hospital to check on his condition."I think it's the right way to stay close to a player who's suffering. Being close to him can help him cope at such a delicate moment of his career," added the Milan coach.

He wasn't even exploited as a young player either. Got brought through slowly into the international set up. Built his career up in lower level countries before he moved to Barca. Progressed exactly the same as many other Brazilians who went on to lead long and productive careers. He was just a fat sh*t like Ronaldinho is getting to be now.

Damn i was looking fwd to seeing ronaldo against arsenal in the CL.Ronaldo was the best player in the world at 19/20 tho, the saying if your good enuff your young enuff come to mind.Thing is with football, they can get into the first teams so young like at 16, maybe there bodys just arent strong and devolped enuff to cope with all the strain and that can damage there bodys for the future and end up like ronaldos and owens.

As a footballer it's imperative that you look after yourself - eat right/get the right nutrients into you body.Being burnt out at a young age 'rarely' has anything to do with persistant injury problems.Feel kinda bad for him still. Remember 10 years ago watching him at the France World Cup.Stil it remains to be seen whether or not he'll be muttered under the same breath as Zizou and Dona in terms of greatness. Will go down as a legend thats for sure.

LMAO @ thinking there is or was a better striker in our generation than Ronaldo in his prime.PISSED he's finished.
Batistuta, Henry and them man are the dudes you question whether or not they will be mentioned in the same breath as Zizou. R9 is straight up lengman, icon in every sense of the word.Remember at his peak he was the Mike Tyson and Michael Jordan of football
