JJ Posted February 21, 2008 Report Share Posted February 21, 2008 Football is a simple game, their problem is they have alot of average players in their squad.Skeen..When i said that a few months ago people were calling for me to be banned from sports room...Riise, kewell, voronin are poor imo.A few weeks ago I would have added kuyt to that list, but I will back track a little, for the simple reason that Rafa plays him on the wing instead of up front.players like pennant, hyppia, finan, benayoun, lucas, kuyt make good squad players.The problem is with Rafa and his tactics and rotation,I mean, Liverpool probably have an equal, if not better squad than Arsenal. Lot To Learn Posted February 21, 2008 Report Share Posted February 21, 2008 Football is a simple game, their problem is they have alot of average players in their squad.Skeen..When i said that a few months ago people were calling for me to be banned from sports room...I've been saying it for ages, look back in this threadBenitez simply doesn't sign players who would get into other top sides teamsThe reason for that is because we have had to settle for second or third choice players.We were very close to signing Alves but a couple of million cudnt be decided so we had to settle for Pennant.Same happened with Crouch and others.When Rafa took over he seen there was alot needed to be done with the squad so he had to get rid of alot of dead wood.There was alot of it so he could only spend a certain amount on players because he had to change most of the squad.Only this season did we have money to spend on quality players like Torres Babel and Lucas and are all young so for the future at the same time but saying that skrtel was 3rd choice player Rafa was looking at.We are a few top quality players from a title winning team.Rafa needs to be given more time.If we remove the good squad players from the starting 11 to being a squad player we will be alot better off.Players like Kuyt, Pennant, Benyaoun, Aurelio arent good enough to be starting for a top 4 team but are good enough to be in the squad. Expecting Babel to be a star player in a team in his 1st season while Hleb, Adebayor, Rosicky etc were all given at least a season to adjust. He's young and talented, but he's adjusting to a new club and country so give the guy some time. He's scored and made quite a few goals which puts him in good stead for next season.If only you were this cynical when your Wonderkid The is mentioned. Has he been top scorer in a league campaign in his career, like Kuyt?Lets not confuse FORM for ABILITY.If thats the case I supoose Nick is also better than Shevchenko?* On the other note In my own oppinion I think Arsenal have the strongest first team out of the top four (that doesnt mean they have the strongest player in each position) however there squad is probably the weakest.
