if welbeck goes out on loan hes not coming back imo

/

he will be 4th choice there behind Campbell and Jones and Bent

no reason he cant be 4th choice behind Rooney, Berbatov and Owen

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce fears for the future of English talent because of the Premier League.

The Black Cats boss brought teenage midfielder Jordan Henderson into the first-team last season, and he hopes to do the same next term with Martyn Waghorn and Jack Colback.

However, as the aftershocks of England's disastrous World Cup campaign hit home, Bruce is not overly optimistic that young talent will flourish in the top-flight.

He said: "Waghorn and Colback, this is a big year for them. They will definitely make a living in the game, they have proved that playing in the Championship.

Hopefully Bruce follows up his word and gives him a lot of game time

Course he's coming back. At least with this loan move (if it happens), he will be at a team who play a bit of football and he will get to show what he can do in the Prem.

Also, he won't be fourth choice. Campbell did well from the right last season so he will stay there. Welbeck partners Bent upfront. Jones will get benched because I "reckon" Bruce doesn't rate his attitude.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has indicated that he plans to offer some of his youngsters the chance to fulfil their potential in the new season.

The Old Trafford club will be desperate to wrestle the Premier League title back from Chelsea in 2010/11, but they are also considering the long-term future.

Ferguson famously won the league in 1995/96 when the likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and the Neville brothers were only at the start of their careers.

And the Scot has again suggested that he is prepared to look to the next generation in the form of Sunderland target Danny Welbeck, Jonny Evans, Darron Gibson and Federico Macheda.

Big incentive

"The history of Manchester United is quite simple," said Ferguson in the Daily Mirror. "It's always been based on young people and that's where we're more comfortable. I think our fans are more comfortable too.

"So producing players is a big incentive for us. We know the response we get from supporters when we produce a player through the ranks, through our youth system. It's a fantastically satisfying thing also.

"At the moment we have a collection of young players who have been growing up at the club for the last few years like Danny Welbeck, Jonny Evans, Darron Gibson and Federico Macheda. These young players are developing very well at the club.

"Some players are coming through like young Oliver Gill and young Corry, Jonny Evans' brother. So we've a fine collection of young players who, if you don't give an opportunity to, are going to stagnate and move to other clubs who'll get the benefit of the work we've done with them.

"We've had experience of that in the past, so we try to avoid that as best we can and make sure we make the right decisions about these boys' careers, because most of them are very good and talented."

Might as well move this topic to the Arsenal room.

Sunderland assistant manager Eric Black has confirmed they are in the hunt for a loan deal for Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck - but may have to wait several weeks to complete the deal.

Welbeck, 19, is highly rated by United supremo Sir Alex Ferguson and has been earmarked to play a key role in the club's future. With the competition for places made tougher this season by the arrival of Mexico World Cup 2010 star Javier Hernandez, however, the Scot is prepared to sanction another temporary move after he spent a spell at Preston North End last season.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Black declared Sunderland's interest in the player despite the fact he is currently on tour in the United States.

"It's still ongoing," Black acknowledged.

"The manager has stated he [Welbeck] is somebody he would certainly like to have in the squad, but Manchester United are in the States at the moment for another couple of weeks, so I don't imagine it will happen in the next week or two."

Daryl Murphy is going Celtic aswell so 1 less rival for places for Danny if he goes Sunderland

Speaking to the club's official website, Smalling expressed his excitement on being part of the United set up.

“I can’t wait to pull on the shirt for first time," Smalling said.

“I’m working hard in training and hopefully I’ll get some game time. I’m just really looking forward to getting out there and doing my best for the club.”

The defender also declared he was settling in well with the players and was thrilled to have been selected for the trip.

“The tour’s been a really enjoyable experience so far. It was great to meet everyone, initially at Carrington and then on tour. It’s been good to get away and spend time getting to know the lads," he added.

“I’ve spent quite a bit of time with Wes [brown] and Jonny [Evans], my fellow centre-backs. And I’ve also been chatting to a lot of the younger lads. It’s just great to get to know everybody and be part of such a great club.

“I can’t quite believe how things have changed for me in the last few years. Going out to Australia with Fulham last summer on tour was a big experience, but to be out here now with the most famous club in the world is fantastic and I’m just looking forward to the games now.”

East End Park, Dunfermline

Dunfermline 1-5 Manchester United Reserves

United’s Reserves made it nine goals scored in their first two pre-season games as they put five past an outclassed Dunfermline at East End Park.

Coming off the back of a four-goal haul against Curzon Ashton on Monday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side picked up where they left off and blew the Scottish First Division outfit away in the first half. Joshua King grabbed two goals inside the first twenty minutes, those two strikes sandwiching another from Nicky Ajose, and Rodrigo Possebon’s long range effort made it four before the break. While Andy Kirk’s free-kick pulled a goal back for the home side in a quieter second half, Will Keane put some deserved gloss on the scoreline and restored the four-goal cushion with a typical finish five minutes from time.

The same 18-man squad involved in the game against Curzon made the trip north of the border, with just the one change being made to the starting XI – Oliver Norwood replacing Cameron Stewart. James Chester continued his return from a lengthy injury lay-off, while Magnus Eikrem was handed the captain’s armband.

The tone was set for the game very very quickly, within twenty-one seconds in fact. Nicky Ajose’s right-wing cross looked to be relatively harmless but the two covering Dunfermline defenders conspired to take each other out in true Keystone Kops style, leaving the lurking Joshua King with the simplest of finishes.

If that early setback left the Pars reeling, little more than fifteen minutes later they were practically out for the count, and skipper for the day Eikrem was the architect of their downfall. His raking long pass set Ajose clear down the right channel and allowed the 18 year-old to deftly clip the ball past goalkeeper Chris Smith, and the Norwegian playmaker then followed that up with a defence-splitting ball for his compatriot King to latch onto and drill home from the edge of the box.

United continued to pour forward, Norwood and Ajose both going close, and it wasn’t until just before the half-hour mark that the home side had their first real effort on goal. Buoyed by that, Dunfermline then forced a couple of corners in quick succession, but from the second they were to succumb to a typical United counter-attack as Eikrem and Ajose combined to tee up Rodrigo Possebon some thirty yards out. The Italian let fly with a sweetly-struck effort that Smith couldn’t keep out, and the hosts found themselves four goals in arrears heading into the interval.

Half-time brought the usual array of changes, with Solskjaer and Warren Joyce bringing on Sam Johnstone, Cameron Stewart, Will Keane and Robbie Brady for the second 45. Perhaps those changes disrupted the Reds’ rhythm, possibly the United youngsters were guilty of slacking off with the game won or maybe a smarting home side simply raised their game – either way, the match was a much more even contest after the break, and the Pars got reward for their vast second half improvement in the form of a somewhat wind-assisted freekick from striker Andy Kirk.

Both sides made further changes and unsurprisingly the game suffered as a spectacle, although Nick Phinn spurned a couple of fine chances to make the scoreline more respectable for the SFL side. It was United who were to have the last word however, Academy Player of the Year Will Keane collecting a pass from Stewart and showing his usual unerring accuracy in front of goal to make it 5-1. That was how it finished, a terrific result for such a young side against a group of experienced senior pros, and Solskjaer will hope his charges can produce something similar next week as they travel south to take on a useful Yeovil Town side.

its not even a case of talking to the guy, anyone who works with or is or has been around people living that walk o life, know its never as easy as talking to them about what they're doing. Its a lot deeper than just choosing to live the road life. Some people as stupid as it sounds feel they have no choice, no matter what the opportunities put their way.

He needs to run his course or something needs to happen to focus his mind. But some people just dont have that mental strength and stability to see whats good for them an do it.

If you take into account the priviliged position that his talent has got him into and then the fact that he still wants to live the road life that should tell everyone that this is just a engrained way of life for him, and to be honest we d all be naive to think that no one has spoken to him and tried to get through to him.

from what ive heard hes been held back from pro terms because they dont think hes ready mentally. this guy has been ready for reserve football for at least 2 years butt he wasnt even a regular for u-18s last year. and its not because hes not been playing sick. its literally a case where if he achieves too much too soon he will self destruct
