theres a reason why United are dragging their heals over numerous contract deals,

and unsurprisingly it is the same reason why, in the summer we had Wesley Sneiijder wanting the move, Us wanting him, and inter willing to sell, but no Signing.

Alex Ferguson would happily give bumper contracts to the players he rates, this is the man who by his own admission was close to quiting at a point in the 90's due to the measly-ness of the club when it came to contracts.

alex Ferguson is told how much money in regards to wages is available to him, in the same way David Gill is.

i said a couple of pages ago, its amazing how accurate red issue is at times, anyone in the manchester area try to ask for a issue from a couple of months back, either november or december, i cant remember which, they outlined the ongoing Pogba issue(No biggie, anyone couldve seen that coming), but also mentioned The Morrison issue, which at the time wasn't a issue.

When the bond came out it was obvious that the glazers had handed out a certain ammount of money to be used for both transfers and wages, (how much? who knows.) it would be a fair ammount and "sustainable" but also means the clb ahas to scrimp when it comes to every single contract deal. Does anyone thing fergie wanted to flog john o'shea? no but if you can then have cleverly and Phil jones on deals which combined come up to a little more than JOS's it makes sense .

after the summers Sneijder saga, the magazine/fanzine again went to great length to explain again that the wage structure would have to be looked at, i.e squad trimming that went further than just Brown, O'shea and Gibson.

sometimes people look past the completly obvious in favour of blaming those who are in the spotlight,

if people want to believe that the purse strings are controlled by david gill then fine, if they want to believe the purse strings are controlled bY SAF then fine,

the wikedest thing is we were al;l told in 2005 what was going to happen,

#

in 2007 (i think it was) Gill came out and said we would be mostly looking for players with high potential and low contracts rather than those on high contracts and with little or no re-sale value.

you think that was his idea?

Yeah but if thats the case don't you let Berbatov leave rather than extended his deal another year and then not sell him in that year, and then give Welbeck the difference and pocket the change. Maybe Berbatov is the wrng example as like I said he was top scorer, dont you look at what Welbeck was doing last year, get rid of Owen rather than extended his deal another year, and before season starts you tie Welbeck to a long deal on a then undeserved wage rise before the season starts and you play him and he gets in the national team. This is the Arsenal way anyway, look at Wilshere 15k on his 17th birthday, 30k returning from Bolton and then 50k before that year was out. Szczesny on 30k after returning from Brentford... Mind boggling when i think about it.

Guest Portuguese

These youngins are getting to brave.

Only taking the piss cause he knows Untied don't have a similar talent coming through in the youth rank, imagine these youngsters try try this at Barcelona, would have been told to f*ck off quick.

Cuenca is doing the same thing as Welbeck

Did someone actually say Welbeck could be a worldbeater?

No f*cking way.

Like ie said for months and TF will testify. Jack wilshere is a talent but he is not as advanced in his development as the media would have you believe. He will most likely get there, but at the moment he's just been groomed for the throne because he's marketable.

Lol i to thought this till i saw his performance against Barcelona, if at 19 you can be performing like that against Xavi Iniesta and co, then your on your way to being one of the best in the world.

There is nothing overrated about Wilshere, he is that good, its not like people are calling him the White Pele or anything.

Pos. Anyone who doesn't believe, look up the video of Wilshere's individual game that night vs. Barca. At 19 aswell, f*ck*ng don.

The simple answer to this is, despite rating them very highly, Management couldn't be sure of the extent of their cobtrubution.

Owen and Park will almost definitely be ushered towards the door this summer.

Berbatov was resigned on the same deal for another year, there's no re-sale value to be had from him, and you would be hard pressed to find someone as capable seemingly as happy to sit in the bench most of the time. (saying that, from your post, you knew that already)

In the close season I'm expect 5 or 6 players out, and 2 or 3 in.

Kompressor - David Gill is a c*nt and what's funny is you assume I say this just from a monetary perspective. I don't. Also, none of ^^^ legislates for Ash Young being on £130K. Nobody can legislate for that and Im not accepting us being in a battle with Liverpool to sign him as factor for being on such a wage. Utd have made their bed.

Mate I was standing up at Old Trafford and outside it Chanting about how David Gill's a c*nt, Before anyone knew who Malcolm Glazer was and when the majority of fans giving a sh*t or being concerned about the inner runnings of the club was a myth.

I agree with your sentiment, but like I've said before, if you want to throw stones at him, I'd say blame him for things that are in his power. And the things that he is in sole control over, of which there are many.

It's a forum, furthermore, this is the United thread, if you want to go in in Gill for numerous reasons, go ahead.

You won't be sued or brought up before a court of law for doing so.

Air your grievance

Diouf -> Hannover looks like close to being finalised.

such a bizarre signing, was never a United player in a million years

There's been a few over the last few years, bizarre is a big understatement.

Tosic, Llyajic (sp) Bebe of course. Going back further, Dong, Bellion, Miller,

Actually scratch Bellion from the list as to my memory he was actually given a fair crack, just wasnt up

To it,

I heard a story a few years ago , that when asked who the hardest midfielder he had played against , Xavi said Jody Morris was the hardest midfielder he had ever played against.

This is before the Roman era , when we reached the champions league quarters , eventualy going out to barca in the 2nd leg.

But yea , i wouldnt get too excited over Jack just yet , look what happend to Jody Morris's career.

Diouf is ok, as good as Welbeck imo, did very well at Blackburn, the thing that I'm baffled about is why bring them in if we were never going to give them a chance?

Tosic was never getting a regular run out and we spent money on him.

You can't be buying certain players and putting them in the reserves, they are already past that level of football.

Bebe was a stupid signing, he was never gonna get a proper run either, unless he did some world class sh*t in the few appearances he did have.

My advice to any player would be to seriously consider coming to Man Utd as unless you are a superstar, ie: Snieder, you aren't gonna play or develop at us, will just be wasted years sitting in the reserves.

Walker is better going forward but Clyne is better defensively

Walker is more adventurous I would say, not better.

Clyne plays the ball quick, gets into good space and assists all day.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2088797/Manchester-United-want-Nathaniel-Clyne-Crystal-Palace.html

If this is true I would be the over the moon but we have to start him, he has over 100 League appearances, he don't need to be on the bench.

He's good at initiating an attack but he's not gunna give that killer ball...well he hasn't so far

I don't think he has an assist to his name this season so far

I would say Walker is better going forward at this point.
