Glazer Family Issue Statement Insisting Manchester United Are Not For Sale

Americans have not put club on market...

Manchester United's owners, the Glazer family, have announced that the club is definitely not for sale and they will not consider any offers from anyone.

The so-called Red Knights group has been trying to put together a bid for United, whilst there have also been rumours that the Qatari royal family had lodged a bid of £1.5 billion.

"The board notes recent press speculation regarding a possible bid for Manchester United," the statement reads.

"The owners remain fully committed to their long-term ownership of the club. Manchester United is not for sale and the owners will not entertain any offers."

United chief executive David Gill has insisted that the club's financial state is healthy despite the current levels of debt at Old Trafford.

He also maintained that there would be money for manager Sir Alex Ferguson to spend this summer on transfers.

This just gets better and better

Cannot wait for Ushited to end up like Leeds. I will live for that moment.

another 8 million apparently to add to the unwanted/uneeded transfer budget

i just hope this value bloke turns up so we can go on a spending spree to make Real quake in their boots

That's because nobody did hype Tosic - Just guys on here talking sh*t as usual lol.

Only person I seen on a United Forum that spoke about Tosic was some dude who supported his previous club and said he couldn't understand why United bought him because he was average.

"I'm already 23, but Manchester United didn't give me a chance to prove myself," said Tosic.

"Obviously, I'm an athlete, I have ambition, but I want to show myself on the pitch, not on the bench. That's the main reason I left.

"They could have considered loaning me, but Manchester United wanted to sell and sell they did.

"CSKA Moscow, in my opinion, are quite a famous club, consistently playing in European competition and fighting for the Russian League title."

Good player. Could've done well but Fergie never gave him a run in team. Not the first time he's done that and it probably won't be the last.

i hyped him

because he is still a very good footballer,

why he was never givin the chance i'll never know.

c/s

and I still have faith in the kid. He did well in the reserves, didn't get a real chance in the first team, had a rocky start in Germany but once his fitness was up he put in a number of MoM performances.

stating he's sh*t, simply means you haven't seen enough of him. He's far from sh*t.

Manchester United have ruled out making a bid for Joe Cole, according to Sky Sports sources.

Cole is a free agent after he failed to agree a new contract at Chelsea.

The midfielder, currently in South Africa with England, has insisted he is leaving talks of his future down to his representatives.

Arsenal and Manchester City emerged as favourites to sign Cole earlier this summer, but lately it was Man United who were widely reported to have won the race to land him on a free transfer.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp said earlier this week that he felt a deal to take Cole to United was all but done.

But now Sky Sports sources understand that Cole will not be heading to Old Trafford this summer.

Manchester United set to beat Serie A pack to Sotiris Ninis signing - report

29 Jun 2010 16:05:00

Manchester United are set to beat Italy's leading clubs to the £9.6 million signing of Panathinaikos starlet Sotiris Ninis, according to Forza Roma.

Ninis, 20, is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in Europe and was part of the Greece squad that travelled to World Cup 2010. His comfort in attacking midfield and on either wing has seen him added to the transfer wish list of Roma, Inter, AC Milan and Arsenal.

But United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is reported to have stolen a march on his rivals and has already handed a multi-million bid to the Greek champions. With Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs in the twilight of their careers, Ninis would add an injection of youth into the United ranks.

Goal.com

MICHAEL OWEN and Owen Hargreaves have given Manchester United a massive boost by declaring themselves fit for pre-season training.

The first-team squad - excluding the World Cup stars - are due back on July 5 but both Owen and Hargreaves have already been in at the Red Devils' Carrington training ground to work with the fitness team.

Owen has worked ferociously to recover from the knee injury that cut short his season.

The United staff have been impressed with his dedication and are convinced he is ready to take a full part in pre-

season and the club's tour of America and Canada.

Owen will be joined by Hargreaves, who is over his 20-month injury crisis.

The England midfielder managed a brief end-of-season bow against Sunderland after crippling tendinitis threatened his career.

He has recently returned from a trip to Colorado, where he continues to receive treatment.

But there have been no ill-effects and Hargreaves has been able to maintain a high-intensity training programme through the summer, much to the relief of manger Sir Alex Ferguson and England boss Fabio Capello.

Manchester United are reportedly considering offering Brazilian youngster Anderson in a deal that would bring Paris Saint Germain Stéphane Sessègnon to Old Trafford. The 26 year old Benin international has become a target for the best clubs across Europe after demanding a move away from the Parc des Princes and Sir Alex Ferguson is apparently a big fan of the all purpose midfielder.

Having seen Anderson put in a very sub standard season as well as upsetting the boss by making an authorized trip back to his homeland and is apparently a player who could be heading for the Old Trafford exit and he just so happens to be a target of the Ligue 1 side leaving many to put two and two together.

Both players are thought to be valued at around the same price of around £10-12m. The former Le Mans man can play anywhere across the midfield and even as an attacking player in the hole behind a striker so could be of good use to Ferguson

Interest in Anderson from French trio – Marseille are showing interest in Manchester United midfielder Anderson even though he is unlikely to be fully fit until September.

The Brazilian, 22, ruptured the cruciate ligament in his left knee in February days after vowing to get his United career back on track following a fall-out with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Lyon and Paris St Germain have also shown interest in the past. (Daily Mail)

Stephane Sessegnon Quoted in Liverpool Daily Post “I want to move out of PSG,” Sessegnon said. “They know it, I know it.”

News that Rafa Benitez is ready to offload Argentine midfielder Esteban Cambiasso as he pursues Liverpool man Javier Mascherano has led a rumoured move by Sir Alex Ferguson to sign the vastly experienced Inter Milan man.

Jose Mourinho has been linked with a move for the 29 year old former River Plate man who spent two years at the Bernabeu between 2002 and 2004 but no bid has been confirmed and Manchester United are looking to bring in a solid defensive midfielder having seen Owen Hargreaves spend the best part of two seasons out injured.

Money as always is the biggest obstacle to any such deal but if the Premier League club can get a decent price for potential departure bound players like Dimitar Berbatov and Anderson then Ferguson will presumably be able to reinvest funds to improve his Old Trafford squad.

The £18m rated Buenos Aires born battler would surely prefer a move to Man United over a deal to take him to Anfield, not least because he could then continue playing Champions League

ninis

do not want

why not pray tell?

only fault I see is that if people said Tosic wasn't built for the premier league, I don't see how this kid is...he's a bit stockier but still lightweight. Isn't afraid to take a shot from outside the box, and as a AM or CM he's pretty damn effective. Dunno why everyone states him as a winger cos he doesn't really play on the wing for panathinaikos, he sits behind cisse....

Trusay its the greek league but still. He's a prospect for the future.

Speaking to L'Equipe, Thuram - who is the most capped player in France's history - blasted Evra's behaviour and demanded he be excluded from the international set-up.

"I ask that the players are severely punished and Patrice Evra will not return ever for France," said Thuram.

"When you're captain of France, there is a responsibility, respect for the shirt people should have."

Catching up with Joshua King

June 28, 2010 8:37 pm

While the World Cup is dominating the headlines and club news is thin on the ground, the start of pre-season training is nearly upon us and we’ve been alerted to an interview that promising United striker Joshua King has given back in his native Norway ahead of his return to Manchester. Joshua talks about his time with the Reds so far, his first-team debut last season, how he’s been spending his summer and plenty more.

Credit to Groruddalen’s Kenneth Fossheim for the interview and Preben for the translation.

In his two years at Manchester United, Joshua King has matured both as a footballer and as a person. Now, he’s ready to take the next step with the Red Devils.

- “I’m really satisfied with life in Manchester, and professionally at Manchester United. But it’s of course been a tremendous help having my mum with me for the first few years.”

This summer though, King’s mum is going back to Norway on a permanent basis, and young Joshua will have to take care of himself while seeking the ultimate dream of a professional career at one of the worlds biggest clubs.

Since Josh made his move at the tender age of 16, a lot has happened to his physique as well. The small kid is now 6″1, and he’s really well built.

- “We train from 10 am to Noon, then we have lunch together, before we have another session in the afternoon”, he says.

Josh has had quite a few injuries over the last season, including both his ankles and his groin. Those injuries has given him the opportunity to spend a lot of hours in the gym.

- “It might have been a blessing in disguise to have been injured. It’s enabled me to spend a lot of time in the gym, and my physique has really improved which is a big help. The English game is so physically demanding, and I really need every ounce of body weight to be competitive.”

On the field, Joshua has been playing for Manchester United’s U-18s. He’s also had some appearances for the reserves, and he got his reward for his good form when he came on as a sub in the League Cup against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

- “The tempo in England is a lot higher than what it is in Norway. At the same time the opponents are a lot stronger, and you really have to be on top form. But, I believe in myself, and in my abilities.”

When Joshua’s mother leaves this summer, he’s got to live on his own.

- “I think I’ll be fine, I’m a good chef, so I think I’ll manage just fine!”

Joshua quit school when he left for Manchester. Nonetheless the club is giving him the opportunity to attend school.

- “I’ve been attending school two times a week, for the last two years, but I finished that this spring”, he says.

When moving to another country the language will always be a problem at first.

- “The language has been no problem at all. In fact I’ve got a lot of praise for my English. That’s down to all my travels to Gambia as a kid, I didn’t speak the language, and therefore I had to speak English.”

King is born in Oslo, his mother is Norwegian, while his father is from Gambia. Just like a certain John Carew.

At the moment King is in Norway on holiday, but he’s still training very hard.

- “I train at the Norwegian Olympic Center with Norway’s fastest sprinter, Jaysuma N’dure, and his coach. Coming back to England in anything else than top shape is just not a option whatsoever.”

In September last year, his boyhood dream was fulfilled when he replaced Danny Welbeck 9 minutes from time in the League Cup.

- “That was a magnificent day, I was very nervous but I think I did just fine.”

- “Many people will say that I’m living the dream, but I really don’t think they know how tough this is. But you know, I can’t complain, I’m making a living doing what I enjoy the most in the whole world”, he says.

Even though Joshua is just 18 years old, he’s already trained and played with some of the best players in the world.

- “Paul Pogba, and Magnus Eikrem are the two best players I’ve played with in the Reserves. Anderson on the other hand is the most fun off the pitch.”

Even though he lives a long way from his native Romsås, he still keeps in contact with his buddies from school.

- “We talk all the time, and I’m with them all the time when I’m home on vacation.”

Jim Solbakken is King’s agent, and he thinks Joshua can go just as far as he wants.

- “He can go very far, but if he gets sloppy, he might not make it at all. Joshua has been very lucky that his mother has been living with him now in the start, and that’s helped him a lot through the hard period of training he’s had over the last years.”

Ferguson added: 'We've looked at a few options. We did consider David Villa but he was always going to Barcelona. I just don't believe there is value out there at the moment. I'm very happy with the strength of our squad as it is.'
