VIP2's Apple Mac Users....

I like it, but they're mad thinking they can switch people over to USB-C like that. There's no normal USB ports, just 1 USB-C port for the whole thing.

Imagine the USB adapter revenues.

In the box, MacBook buyers will only find a 29W USB-C Power Adapter and an USB-C Charge Cable, but Apple will sell additional accessories in its stores. Separately, these accessories cost $49 and $29, respectively.

The company has so far listed three additional adapters, including a $19 USB-C to USB Adapter (which lets you connect USB-based devices such as hard drives and memory sticks), a $79 USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (features USB-C, HDMI and USB ports) and a $79 VGA Multiport Adapter (features USB-C, VGA and USB ports).

Even though they’re listed on Apple’s online store, the accessories aren’t yet available for purchase, as the 12-inch MacBook won’t be released until April 10th.

Why typical Apple?

It's their first non propietery power cable in a MacBook? All laptops will be using USB-type C soon. It only got finalised in August last year.

Its aimed at the people who take their laptop to Starbucks. It's not designed for you to use at home. Think CEO who only writes a few emails.

so as I'm leaving my company I'll need to cop my own machine

anyone know a real reason to get 16gb? I mean I will be doing Photoshop and Logic Pro work on it, but does that really get better with 16gb? (I'm currently using 8gb and it doesn't seem to be an issue with Photoshop, haven't touched Logic in a minute though)

i got an 8GB 2014 pro .Its fully been capable of whatever i throw @ it

16GB just future proofs the machine in case you decide to install/use more intensive apps.

Logic will run fine & depending on how intensive the logic project is , its a sound card you'll need not ram.

I would go for the 16gb cause this soldered ram issue is a fucking joke & you never know what you'll need in the future.

will cop more when the time calls for it, and it will be cheaper than apples offering, they take the piss with ram prices
