Final year, 2 scripts to finish, 1 for my 50 minute classed, and the final year project which is my film script.

Thanks to work for being cunts during a "constructive" review, adding in I should work weekends and late nights to improve my work. That'll take a hit on any uni work I have left.

Anywho....

Bloody result, a piece I worked on last year about Guardiola and Bayern which I got a 1st for has now been put forward for that lecturer's current class and future classes as an "example of excellence". Show my interview didn't get the same, but it's something.

Nearly finish my final project, needs one final push.

The class was focusing on video editing, securing an interview with someone in the media and writing about it.

I decided to write on Guardiola who at the time had just signed for Bayern. You wouldn't believe how many knock backs I got from journos, bloggers, magazines, newspapers, players. All I needed was a brief interview with them and no one cared spare me the time. Balague was always the first choice, I'd spoke and met him but he couldn't commit as his book had just been released.

In the end I wrote a long piece giving my thoughts on him as a manager, the style of football he'll bring to Bayern and what we can expect. Used various links, videos, images (all the right people I referenced). If I find it I'll post a link.

The video I bootlegged a Jimi Hendrix guitar solo, videos from a French TV channel, images (I gave credit for) - only reason I bootlegged the videos is because Sky refused to have anything to do with even for 5 seconds unless they were paid little more than a thousand pound. Uefa wouldn't allow any image rights or videos as I'd have to go through the rights holders - in our case this would be Sky who then said it's down to the local FA that being Spain. Just an insane amount of time and effort on my behalf. Overall I think my grade was a 2:1 - the video pulled me down.

I'm doing a BA Hons in Film & Media, 2 more lectures left and then my project handed in on May 1st. Still got to finish my film script (done 57 of 90 pages, roughly 9500 words) and my 50 minute piece due in April (36 out of 50 pages). Plus 2 critical assignments for each script, these are the times I wish I never had work.

From the Economist

Which MBA offers the best return on investment? That depends on whether you are after a long- or short-term gain. Our chart shows the cost of an MBA at selected business schools after taking into account tuition fees and forgone salary. Two-year courses at prestigious American institutions are the most expensive. An MBA at Wharton costs $330,000 on average, in part because it enrolls well-paid executives. But the immediate return on such degrees is small. Graduates tend to land jobs just a few notches above the ones they left. Cheaper, shorter MBAs around the world offer better returns. Students at HEC make enough extra money upon graduation to pay off their degrees in less than two years. Schools, such as IESE, that enroll lots of students from poor countries who then find jobs in the West also fare well. Still, Wharton alumni are more likely to top the greasy pole in the long run.
