What i think is happening in this topic is people are confussed with the two terms.Host & MC's are not the same thing.Understand that...Some, and i say some are very open in regards to say openley i am a mc and i do this house ting. Easy Coldsteps, as he and myself have had this conversation.Others who are mc's will say i am a Host, but its 100% bait that they are MC's that offer nothing to the event or music apart from lyrics galore. This is what the new ravers who are jumping on the hype ting need to understand.NOT all mcs are gonna be suited to this, and coming over will be pointless, regardless how good you are in entertaining the crowd, you will get air pie and parred... believe meAnd on that note i shall retreat back into reading the sports room

Ok, we get you're a big mic man and house specialist from morning, but whats the difference between the two? Do MCs spit more bars than a host? What is Coldsteps?

Nar i aint abig mic man from day, i never see it as that.I see it that i have kinda been here from day, and if im honest, at my own events i would rather put down the mic and rave to the music.Out of all the events i put on.. only 1 features a microophone, the rest are straight beats and music.I dont really wanna go down the road of talking about coldsteps in a sense and he is someone i am actually fond of in the sense that, in my events i couldnt have what he does on the mic, but in another sense i think he is great for the new youngers that are comming through and having someone to look up to. He has he's generation on lock when he touches the mic which i feel is a excellent addition to the new breed that are coming through.like ive said before, me and him have had lengthy converstations about it all. Coldsteps is an out and out mc. We have both agreed on that, when im in raves he says it himself, Tippa's a Host, Im an MC. Ask him...But on that note, he knows i have love for him, in what he does for the youngers.. he's there voice, which he can use to get a positive message across to them.Ok, in my opinon... the majority these days are mcs.Host are really there to compliment the music, keep the crowd interested when the dj played a semi dead tune, and bring them back to life. You interact with the crowd and comment about whats going on in the rave. That my opinon on it... Thats what i try to do, keep it simple.I use 2-3 slogans which aint even 8 bars.. and dun. There are now some guys who are claiming to be Host who are actually talking and mcing too much, every tune, over every mix, even talking about things and mcing about things which would generally be associated with say grime and ting, clashing this mc and seeing who can get the wickedest wheel up up etc.. lolDo you know how many cds i get and i end up dashing out the window of my car cause its a promotional cd for a rave with 2-3 mcs on chatting sh*t.. gimmie a cd with just the advert on and music and im happy init.Like i even cuss promoters that have recorded a set with me on then burnt and used as a promotional cd for a next event.. i went mad, i dont want to be protrayed in that light at all.In saying all that, if this is what people want to hear then all good, let the hussle roll and everyone earn there money, just no.. it wont be in my events, which is why i actually think, Circle and other simular events i do, do so well.
