I dont think there is any one way to define Britishness. There was a program about this recently which showed ethnics and indigenous people alike didn't really feel they could define Britishness and themselves couldn't say they feel British.America on the other hand has clear national identity, with the pledge of allegiance being recited in classrooms and what not.I do feel British and do feel English but in my own way. This is my home and despite being ethnic I cannot seeing any other state being home to me. My parents culture seems quite alien to me.I don't feel English in some pub guy way nor in some posh bloke way.Maybe I simply feel English because that Asian culture is so Alien to me and I am caught in a neither-or situation. I dunno.

When I went to the Caribbean to see my family. I realised I belong in the caribbean.Yep Portland, Havana, Puerto Plata, Sousa = ME, I love them places and the people. I'm only here to make money, then I'm off. I'm definately not British.

The whole "Im a Londoner not British" is an interesting mentality.Im from London and not meaning to sound rude I find northern people slightly backward and different. It feels like they live in a completely different world. I think people who arent from the south of england are a bit behind and can see why people from London would like to differentiate themselves and I also find a lot of British people have low aspirations and other qualities that I highly dislike.I am British and proud to be British but I dont feel I have much affiliation with other British people. Everybody is an individual and are different so dont group everyone together and I'll be fine to announce I am British.
