It has to do with the iBoot (boot rom) version of the phone. As a rough guess, any phone made after WEEK 40 will have the new iBoot which is what causes the iPhone to need rejailbreaking after a power loss. Quick way to know what week your iPhone was produced is to look at your serial number and the 4th and 5th digit will tell you which week was your iPhone 3GS produced.& YES, if anyone has a blocked iPhone for sale holla at me.
