Guest Wu-Tang
Old money generally refers to inherited wealth, i.e. your family will be landowers, or in charge of the family business that has been runing for hundreds of years. You can't lose Old money.New money refers to soemone who will be relitively recently rich, e.g. winning the lottery, becoming a succesfull sports person/musician etc, it may not be something of that nature, it may be the BEGININGS of inherited wealth, like striking oil or recently coming into property, inherited from a long-distant family member, generally this newly aqquired wealth will give these people the same standing, and have them at the same places as the the 'Old Money'.Often they will be looked down upon since they are essentially, a 'polished turd', a person from the preverbial 'gutter' that will be sitting with their 'betters'Its really a 'class' thing.Old money has nothing to do with the actuall time you haave had a bit of money for, say I have £50 in my bank for 50 years, doesn't make ME Old Money, or the money itself old.If you watch something like TRL or bullshit like that they will just refer to new money as the latest person to get rich, but then TRL = Fail. VENI VIDI VICI
Firstly they isn't a clear distinct meaning as I believe its subjective.Old money = money made/gained/given in the past with all the applicable elements that go with it that still exists today. It's money that you had no input to generate today/recent times but maybe did in the past. Time scales differ in regards to what people consider 'the past' is.New money = any money/decisions/investment you undertake currently/today that will generate wealth today & in the future. In shortOld money = money made in the past & still exists. Deals with the past.New money = money that is currently being made & will be made. Deals with the present & future.Overlaps will take place here & there. Don't confuse them. But if you moved into an affluent white neighbourhood, with people who have inherited money, you are new money to them, no?Does it say new money will be sniffed out? Its a comparison and First person to sum it up, numero was hinting but no one got it.I never said a word about being sniffed out, you improvised and added your own spice to the story. You didnt get it (surprise, surprise), so just keep it moving.
TF S4DK
You lot really did confuse your own topic. This is Vip2.Where man say "sick" and "ill" and they dont mean flu.The topic naturally would be assumed to mean the slang meaning of new and old money.
