PC Problems

A Bit Better

Recommended Posts

A couple days ago I got a random error. Something about system spoof I think. When I googled it it seemed to be a printer driver error so I ignored it (as my printer wasn't even connected). Turned it off later. The next time I turned it on Norton came up with an error and now it doesn't start when I turn on the PC. Also I have difficulty running programs. For example I've clicked Microsoft Word about 10 times now but it won't open. It starts to open but stops halfway after that little box comes up. Then that box never goes away. Those in the know... Help me please.

Best way to delete virus is actively monitor your task managers processes tab and when u see something suspected, type the image name into your search box and delete it once your pc has found it
Not reallyThey might not even show up in the process tab and most are designed to reinstall on deletion, plus the added fact of most not knowing what to deleteGet a couple good programs , CCleaner, Malwarebytes and a good antivirus and just spend an hour cleaning everything up - I use Norton as it doesn't give me an problems TBH..Edit: Corrected one of the program names.

Get rid of norton, i really don't like all the mainstream commercial anti virus products. tAVG all the way mate i've had this for a year strong now and i haven't encountered no problems at all and its totally freeIf you know what your doing with computers mate then try using event viewer to find the problem, it could point out the source of the problem or atleast put you on some sort of directionYou know your registerys and things maybe corrupt try this little tool aswell : http://www.ccleaner.com/ ( even if it doesn't work now make sure you get it back if u go down the system restore route)try the simpele fings first like, removing nortan...system restore might be the answer although thats not a garuenteed fix

Why don't you restore the system like 10 people have already suggested
Bit drastic don't you think? I'd like to try to solve the problem instead of just wiping the slate clean and starting again.Plus...I don't know how.
