We thought Rinse had outdone themselves with Spyro’s rapidfire, genre-smashing Rinse 07, but Nut’s contribution to the series, featuring Morgan Zarate, Hudson Mohawke, Joker, Zomby, Pinch, Harmonic 313, Bullion and more is probably just as good. The first Rinse CD to deal with the recent wave of lazerbass/wonky/get-a-better-name hip-hop that the above artists and more specialise in, it’s also expertly mixed - taking complex, hard, challenging beat patterns and shaping them into something that’s got a constant danceable rhythm. Plus it’s the first time in ages we’ve heard Benga and Coki’s ‘Night’ and not groaned - even Lil Silva didn’t pull that off. Rinse 08 should be out on March 30; Rinse 07 is out next week. "listening" and "boring" paint this picture in my head of some dead place wid ppl jus standing doin nuffin and no vibes.as for a rave bein full of guys, fair enough some nights are like that but ive been to just as many if not more nights where there has been loads of chicks. fwd vs rinse and the last why not were filled with chicks.
