If I am spending alot of money on a car then i would need to see some service historyYou normally go my the mileageso if your buying a car with 80k on the clock, expect it to have been serviced 6 times or each year since the car was made and atleast 2 cambelt changes (if it is belt driven)

How do you know the mileage is geniuine without the history or MOT certificates? One dealership was trying to sell me an 02 plate car for about £500 less than the Whatcar.co.uk value and it only had 17,000 miles on it. Now that, to me, is suspect mileage.

The conditon of the interior (especially the pedals) and the engine bay is a giveaway to a cars mileage
Yeah I know to check pedals and steering wheel but those things are easily replacable by a garage. Anyway, tomorrow I'm seeing a car that has the dealer service history. Not too many miles (can't remember how many right now). It seems like a good one. Guy wants £2800 and I wanna give him £2500. How much you think I should come in at?

I worked for Cardrome. Service History is a MUSTGo with a Mechanic, lots off Salvaged cars being sold nowadays, even dealerships are buying damaged cars mainly from Scotland, getting them repaired by cheap labor Romanian Mechanics who order parts from unauthorized sellers. And you don't want something that wasn't professionally repairedCheck if the mileage matches the condition of the car, theres a new system that enables a seller to digitally configure the mileage, I've seen this done on a BMW 530D Sport.Thats all for now

Saw one this morning. The bottom doesn't line up. At the bottom, the bit that runs under the doors doesn't line up with the front wing on one side so it's clearly been in an accident. How serious is this? The way I see it is that if that hasn't been repaired well, what else is wrong?General Mac, you seem to know what you're talking about. What you think? Rest of that car was fine. Couple scratches low down but that's to be expected with a 6 year old car.
