What would you need such a device for?

Car park near my work has a max stay for 2 hours but I park there for 8-10 hours at a time, its run by 1 of those private parking firms that uses cameras to log the time when you enter and exit. They can't enforce any fine so I just ignore the letters but its getting long receiving them. Can buy some clear film that obscure the plate from an elevated level so the camera won't be able to read the plate but I'm guessing its not legal over hear cause you could use it for average speed check cameras etc

i once considered taking my car to france and registering it at my dads out there, putting the french plates and coming back here, heard u generally escape all fines with foreign plates.

Not true, I know an Italian guy who drove his italian registered vehicle here in London and went through C-Zone without paying. He received a letter that week at his italian address demanding payment and the standard court action if non-compliant.
