I wouldn't buy a compact now, i was thinking about it at a point but the cars are really slugish. If you are going to buy must have ful service history, if its done around 70k miles need to have had the belts changed. *personally I don't trust manual bmw gear boxes either in their older models*

come on bro this is nonsense

bmw 3 series E46 have pretty much bullet proof engines,

no BELTS need changing as their chain driven NO cambelt

and manual boxes are solid, ive got a manual 330ci no problems except in winter where it can be a bit notchy till its heated up.

whoever wanted a compact i say go for it esp if its only for a few months as there pretty much rock bottom prices (most of their depreciation is now done) so wont make much of a loss with a reliable car at that...

Snap I did actual forget their chain driven, my bad.. But I still stand on them being sluggish as f*ck and i don't trust the gear box

I'm 3 years older than her she needs to learn to respect her elders. Her mother didn't teach her well.

Yes I'm sending for your Mum.

Wow hold on a minute. My Mum taught me very well, to respect those who deserve respect. Lol at thinking because your 3 years older im gonna automatically have respect for you, especially when you act about 15 always moaning, swearing and arguing. Get over yourself.

BMW problems dont reside in their engines, gearboxes. it's more rear bushes, maf etc etc.

Ford Puma girls car , sorry bruh

Ford Racing Puma isn't but lol at getting insured on that as first car & being young.

pumas do drive nice. but id say it was a girls car. my girl had one b4 some lady decided to side swipe me while i was driving it.

Bro compacts are a girly car too.

For the price. H.Civic is my first choice. Nothin beats a VTEC engine.

I'd look into a T.Celica VVTI engines are superb.

Or even a high mileage Mercedes C180

yeah ur right about compact being girly. cant even argue.

what civic u thinkin tho? i spotted a nice 05 v-tec for 4000

not too much a fan of the celica's looks. i test drove one years ago and havent ever liked it.

c180 was on the list. it was between that and a compact to be honest.

might go look on auto trader

there not that girly

r7vzmh.jpg

some tints and decent alloys make it look respectable and its only a stop gap hes not having it for ages, best value for money will be the compact imo

if you do get one known issues are that the rear wiper motor seizes up and wishbones need replacing usually after 50k-60k so check if that been done

there not the quickest but they are light and quite nimble but your not really after speed and if you are get a 325Ti thats got some decent power, other wise the best would be the 320TD diesel

otherwise no major faults bro, if not get a kompresser merc but dont have much knowledge on them

anymore questions just ask

A nice civic sport can be purchased for under 3000 on the years 01-04 possibly.

Honestly you wont find a better car. it comes fully loaded as standard and the Economic side is unbelievable

Typo meant under 4000 not 3000.

If i was a single man I would be rockin a Civic Type R or a Civic Sport. I love them cars.

Much better than Golfs, A3, Compacts in my opinion.

VTEC Engine >>>>>>>>>>

agreed

i used to have 271956-honda-civic-eg6-with-vtec-b16a-for-sale-front.jpg 1993 v-tec when i was like 19. old as. but the v-tec still kicked in.

then after that i had a normal lsi.

then i had

my 1st 3 cars were civics.

Okay lets consider the facts.

For the price you will realistically only find a X REG, 2001-2002 Mercedes C180 with on average over 100K on the clock. parts are very expensive and even though it's a nice drive its a very juicy engine.

The compact 316 is pretty much a 2 litre car. on the logbook it says 1896cc So expect it to be heavy and juicy, it's slow. and doesnt come equipped with hardly any goods. basic models dont even come with A/C.

1. Insurance wise - Civic lowest group

2. MPG Wise - The civic blows the other two outta the window.

3. Reliability - No known issues with the Civic Sport. nothing hazardous or any dangerous recalls unlike the Compact.

4. The C180 maybe the quickiest but due to it's weight I wouldnt be surprised if the sport can take it at lights.

5. For passengers in the back the space in the civic is nearly double the compact.

6. Overal Cheapest to maintain and run should be your deciding factor.

Have you seen how hench a FRP is though? Deffo not a womans car. It would be jokes for a dude to laugh at the guy driving a FRP then ending up getting murked.
