lol @ these people getting 20 plus A*s (Yes purposely overexaggerated)As they progress through their educational careers there will actually be no room for all that on their CV...then comes to them having to fill in job application forms in the future and clocking that the only grades the employers need to look at from their shuffled deck of GCSE results is English and Maths...in some cases Science as well....so the other A*s count for what?...pub trivia and life stories on rainy days? Then comes the filling in competencies on job application forms...how many are actually gonna use the fact they achieved so many A*s at GCSE level as examples of possessing solid skills as required in the job specs? Especially those who have gone on to higher education who have a tough enough job trying to compete against those people who have a huge back catalogue of work experience. But oh it's okay, they won't hire the other guy with 5 years solid work experience cos this candidate has 17 A*s at GCSE.

Not what you do it's who you know I've discovered.I've got mediocre GCSE's, but because of my contacts I've got a pretty enviable placement that no A* can buy.But yeah, it's gonna be pretty cool I reckon, can't actually wait to start.

Lol at this nonsense. They are easier. I can give you a perfect undisputable example.Maths A Level. When I sat it only 4 years ago it was P1, P2, P3, S1, M1 and S2 or M2.Now it is C1, C2, C3, C4, S1 and M1. But the content of C1-C4 is no more than P1-P3 and S1 and M1 have not changed. So Maths A Level now has a whole module less content. And that's just in 4 years!!

Maths A Level consists of C1-C4, S1/M1 and S2/M2Essentially you're losing either S1 or M1 as a module depending on which one you decide to do IMO it's better that way since you're working on modules you may have an aptitude for rather than a module you simply have to do (though I did Further Maths so the above doesn't personally apply)I don't consider that dumbing down, more refining

So you you had to do S1 and M1 and then either M2 or S2? Well I'm glad I never had to do Stats, looks like the most boring thing ever.-Also:got UCAS confirmation at 5pm, wooooo!!I'm pretty sure my accommodation is f*cked up though, pissed that I can't do anything about it until Tuesday as well.

Yep. Had to do both of the first level and the one of the second. I ended up doing Further Maths AS while I was doing my A2s do I actually did P1, P2, P3, P4, S1, S2, M1, M2, D1. I was taught S2 and taught M2 to myself. Smashed M2 and flopped S2. f*cked up every Stats module at uni as well. Just ain't my thing which is kinda worrying since there's lots of it in the module I'm doing for my accountancy qualification right now.
