Johnnie Walker Gold Label is f*ck*ng beautiful. Drink it freezing cold (and if possible, have a hot choclate pudding with it) Also, Black Label is my favourite whisky on road next to Macallan 18. I'm swigging the sambuca from the bottle. Ardbeg is great, one of my favourites. Definitely embrace the other Islay single malts - Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Bowmore, Caol Ila etc. As Social mentioned, malts from the other Hebridean islands have similar characters (Jura, Talisker, Arran). But the intense peaty punch of a good Islay is my favourite scotch experience Ice can lock up some of the taste by chilling the drink too much. A little splash of mineral water does indeed do the trick, opens it up nicely and helps the flavour come through, you'll notice the aroma jump out at you if you compare before/after the water splash (be wary of tap water which can react badly) 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
