yes he has a pointnothing breeds winning like winningloosing breeds loosinghence the near total meltdown we had, after we lost that f*ck*ng matchtop class players dont wanna stay at a clubs to participate, they wanna win trophies, all of said players know they can pick up straight into clubs who are more likely to win things AND maintains positions in the CL at the same time.

Samir Nasri is flying to London for crisis talks on his Arsenal future - and is ready to quit the club.Nasri will return to the capital this weekend from a holiday in Las Vegas and is due to meet Arsene Wenger on Monday. The midfielder will make it clear he will not sign a new £90,000-a-week contract without also receiving some guarantees.France star Nasri fancies a move to Manchester United after becoming frustrated by Arsenal's failure to challenge for the Premier League title. Wenger will have a tough job to persuade Nasri to stay, what with Cesc Fabregas set to join Barcelona and Gael Clichy heading to Manchester City -who also want Nasri. The 24-year-old wanted assurances that Arsenal will challenge for the title next season and sign top-class replacements, but has been left devastated by Fabregas and Clichy leaving the Emirates this summer. It leaves Arsenal facing a major dilemma as to whether to sell now and cut their losses or risk allowing Nasri to go into the final year of his contract and perhaps lose the £20m-rated star for nothing next summer.United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes they are in pole position to land Nasri and the player is believed to favour Old Trafford ahead of Eastlands. AC Milan are also watching developments.Arsenal are still hopeful of persuading Nasri to sign a new deal, but United will make a formal bid as soon as they are told he has informed Wenger he wants out - and that could happen after their talks on Monday.Wenger is confident that his reinforcements will ensure Arsenal can be major title contenders next season with Lille striker Gervinho set to be the first major signing - as reported by the Mirror in May.Arsenal are also in for Bolton's England defender Gary Cahill, Valencia's Spanish prospect Juan Mata and Argentine midfielder Ricky Alvarez, but must replace established stars such as Fabregas and Clichy.

It was rumoured earlier in the week that officials at Real Madrid had spoken to Ivan Gazidas regarding Cesc Fabregas and a 50m Euros bid. Now Graham Hunter has reported it for Sky Sports News.

Sky Sports News understands that Real Madrid could lodge a rival bid for Arsenal captain and long-term Barcelona target Cesc Fabregas. The Spanish midfielder has been linked with a return to his homeland for some time, having progressed through the youth ranks at Barca before joining the Gunners at the start of his senior career.A move back to Camp Nou had appeared the most likely scenario if Arsenal did decide to let the 24-year-old leave, but the two clubs have never been able to agree on a fee.Reports surfaced last week that Barcelona had been in contact, but club president Sandro Rosell stated that he would not pay over the odds for Fabregas and actually valued the player as cheaper than 12 months ago.Spain-based journalist Graham Hunter has now told Sky Sports News that Real Madrid have made an approach to Arsenal regarding Fabregas. It is understood that Real value the player at €50million (£45m), which is far closer to Arsenal's asking price than Barcelona have reached.Considering Fabregas' close links to Barca and the fact the two Spanish clubs are such fierce adversaries, it is unclear whether Real would be successful in luring the midfielder to the Santiago Bernabeu. But he is a favourite of the board at Real and head coach Jose Mourinho, who wields substantial power over transfers, is also an admirer of Fabregas' qualities.Madrid relied heavily on Xabi Alonso to influence matches in the centre of the field last season and view Fabregas as somebody who could make a big difference.

nothing breeds winning like winning
thats what im saying.
if we won the carling cup we would have lost to barcelona... and the meltdown would have started thereafter and we still would have come 4th.
i dunno. with some form of silverware in the bank confidence wouldnt be as fragile as it usually is. no way we would have come 4th.

why i see part of ur point about complacency, gael clichy has talked about them switching off against "lesser teams", if this was simply the case then we could be in for a good season next seasoni think wenger has also played apart in gassing these fools, he fails to ever blame them, and always talks about their "outstanding attitude"so essentially the players are left to their own opinions on what went wrong.I think as a team they dont trust each other, and dont have confidence in their capabilities and sh*t like loosing the carling cup the way we did, doesn't help..../Gael Clichy saw how liverpool can pick themselves up after a dreadful startand notices how arsenal dont have the balls and character, to make a real come back, if we concede a goal firsthe prob thinks with their spending power, the likelyhood is the Scousers are gonna take our CL spot soon, and take a couple trophies with key signings

Barcelona's latest proposal for landing Cesc Fabregas involves paying Arsenal just £8.5million.The Spanish giants' idea of paying just 25 per cent down of a £34m fee this summer - with the rest spread over three years - is unlikely to impress Arsenal, who want closer to £40m.Fabregas, currently on holiday in Ibiza and keeping himself fit in a gym, is not expected to return to Arsenal when most of the squad come back for pre-season training on Tuesday. He is hoping the two clubs thrash out a deal over the weekend which will mean the deal is announced on Monday and he is presented as a Barca player once more on Tuesda

I swear they're just trying to wrestle him back as a matter of principle that we took him when he was 16 and made him world class. Fully taking the piss now with the offers.

According to his father, Nicklas Bendtner has yet to be the subject of any formal bids despite interest from all of Europe’s ‘big leagues’.The Danish international, who spoke publically about his desire to quit Arsenal last month, is thought to have been approached by Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund and Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon, however, with time on his side it appears he is willing to hold on as long as possible with a view to assessing all potential offers.Premier League duo Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers have been tipped as possible destinations, while Italian sides Inter Milan and AC Milan are also long-standing admirers. The 23-year-old will return to pre-season with the Gunners next week, although it remains to be seen whether he travels on the club’s pre-season tour of the Far East.Speaking to Sporten.tv2.dk Thomas Bendtner revealed:“There has been interest from all the big leagues, but there is nothing concrete yet.“The window is open for a long time.”Much maligned by sections of the Arsenal fan base, Bendtner nevertheless has a decent goalscoring record. From 40 Premier League starts he has a total of 22 goals, and an overall Arsenal tally of 43 despite missing large portions of the last two seasons through injury and playing many games out of position.A natural centre-forward he found himself forced wide due to the form of Robin van Persie, although his best goalscoring period came when given a run of games in the middle.http://news.arseblog.com/index.php/2011/07/bendtner-waiting-for-concrete-offer/
Why do I get the most strangest feeling that Bendtner will stay :D
Pre season training it is
