Liverpool say they hope to sign Nuri Sahin in next 48 hours. Liverpool have bettered Arsenal's offer. AFC not spoken to him today.

Disappointing if Sahin's move to Liverpool goes through, but not worth handing over large loan fee. Club have other targets.

BBC now confirming Liverpool have bettered Arsenal's offer for Nuri Sahin. Will pay more wages and bigger loan fee.

Not worth Arsenal handing over £5m loan fee, then £15m for transfer. Club not looking to spend that much. But need another DM.

Sahin was expected to arrive at London Colney on Monday afternoon, 100%. I have no idea why it hasn't panned out and I've 0 on him since.

I honestly think nobody knows the truth behind Sahin. Different media outlets reporting completely different things.

Last minute jitters.

Before people start getting carried away, Song deal was not sanctioned because of impending Sahin deal, so let's put that to bed.

Real Madrid want £5m upfront, plus £15m future fee plus Liverpool offering higher wages.

Sahin is not coming here to start. In that role, we have Arteta, Diaby, Ramsey, Wilshere & Coquelin. Would rather transfer money & wages be spent on a more robust DM. Not sweating it.

Thing is why waste all that time though?

Transfer window closes next week. With our pace on transfers.

Its gonna be panic buys yet again

If Arsenal walked away from the Sahin deal, assuming they didn't wanna spend 20m, and they already walked away from M'Vila once cos Rennes wasn't trying to talk then I doubt its gonna be M'Vila either.

TBH Arsenal ain't selling Song for 15m, and paying more than 10m for his replacement.

Made it in January, Eisfeld.

on Alex Song…

The reason [we sold him] was we had the opportunity to sell him, he wanted to go and we had the players in place who can replace him. I have taken Song when nobody knew him, and I can show you some papers who said it was the worst buy I had ever made. He finished in Barcelona, so the Club has done a very good job for him. He has developed very well here. He had an opportunity to go to Barcelona, he wanted to take it. We agreed to let him go, but that was not linked with his attitude at all.
