It’s time to let go of guess parries, option select parries, air parries,red parries and every other parry because now we have Focus Attacks!Focus Attacks (FA) are a new and extremely versatile tactic that is brandnew to the Street Fighter series. They can be used offensively, defensivelyand they can be used to cancel special moves. Every character has a FAwhich can be performed by either pressing MP + MK or holding it andreleasing it.There are three levels to the FA, each with its own properties.Level 1Level 1 FAs are performed by pressing MP + MK. After it connects,whether or not it hits or is blocked, you can immediately cancel it into aforward or backward dash. This is useful for either applying more pressurewith a block string or retreating from a potentially bad situation. You canalso dash cancel forward or backwards to fake out your opponent or baitthem into jumping at you by holding MP + MK, performing the dashcommand and then releasing MP + MK after the dash animation hasstarted.Common uses:• Absorbing fireballs and then dash cancelling to move forward orbackwards quickly (make sure to hold MP + MK to absorb and THENdash and release)• As a counter-hit where you use it to counter a single normal attack youanticipate, similar to the way you would use a parry in 3rd StrikeLevel 2Level 2 FAs are performed by holding MP + MK until your character flasheswhite. These have the same hit absorption properties as Level 1, but if yourLevel 2connects, the opponent crumples and you get a free combo! Youjust have to dash cancel forward as soon as you see it connect. If you waittoo long, they fall and if you hit them with a normal, it will pop them off theground and reset them.Common uses:• Absorbing a jump-in attack and releasing the FA right as they land• Baiting sweeps and other midrange attacks from just within sweeprangeLevel 3Level 3 FAs are performed by holding MP + MK until the FA is releasedautomatically. These have the same properties as Levels 1 and 2 with onemajor addition: they are unblockable! This combines both defense and offense in one powerful package.Your character will enter a special preparation pose, which will absorb one attack — which is usually referred to as having Super Armor — and then they'll unleash a move in retaliation.Your character can only absorb one attack, and only then if it's not a throw or armor breaking move. Two or more attacks will knock your character out of their Focus Attack.There are three levels of Focus Attacks depending on how long you hold down the buttons.Level 1: Simply tap the buttons or release after a split second. Your character will launch a weak attack.Level 2: Hold the buttons for about a second and you'll see your character flash. then release. This causes you to do a medium powered attack which will open up the other fighter for a combo if it lands.Level 3: Hold the buttons for about 2 ½ seconds. This causes you to flash yellow and the resulting attack is unblockable, you can also combo after this move if it lands.Absorbing a hit with a Focus Attack also builds Revenge Meter, used for executing an Ultra move. You lot need to come down to the proper tourneys, not about being bedroom champion no homo. Even if its just for casual matches. Players from all over europe attend. Levels are really high.Next one i hear about ill inform you guys.tbh with online capabilities being bedroom champion would mean a lot now.Different when it was just u playin computer and sh*t.But it's difficult playing mans ina arcade... certain man go dere all da time and get sick on it but me and arcade is air.. cant take the joystick/button layout.Give it a month or so and us lot can start doing it big.
