You prefer them talking about killing eachother and destroying the black community?
Cringe
From when I think Jay Electronica and Lupe Fiasco a literally two of the best to ever do it
I said they're boring people mate nothing about their content
what does "nice guy rap" imply
what makes lupe fiasco not a "nice guy rapper" but kendrick lamar or j. cole a nice guy rapper
dont backtrack now son
All the guys I mentioned are students of the game
Jay and Lupe are teachers
Jay and Lupe men, the others all boys just talking bout they feelings
Don't ever call me son again you dummy
This post is nonsense and still doesnt explain how lupe is not a nice guy rapper while kendrick/cole is.
Sounds like you wanna take back that whole nice guy rapper thing son? Go ahead
Â
Â
And lol @ kendrick having zero story to tell. His whole debut album was a story
As was J. Coles latest album
You obviously dont listen to these artists so its pointless you being in ths thread Lionel
Â
listen youngun, i dont wanna shine a light on your heroes and crush your dreams, but this is a forum, built to hold my opinion
Â
Â
the fact you dont understand my point about the differing roles of teachers and students in the game tells me where we are in this conversation, same place we started
Â
Â
i'm not saying Lupe isn't a nice guy, he just don't do nice guy rap. Lupe is a man on a mission in his raps and those raps are bigger than him. J Cole its all him.
Â
Â
i dont wanna sh*t on J Cole cos he's a good lad who works hard, but here is the difference between Cole and the guys i mentioned - Cole's whole buzz was off being signed by Jay Z. his story being he got aired handing a beat cd to Jay year's ago. he essentially Hip Hop's answer to being an X Factor winner. his whole schtick is "i did it, you can do it too"
Â
and i'm so glad you brought up Forest Hills Drive. great example for my case. its an album about how he made it in rap. its a rap album... about being a rapper! Â its music... about music! f*ck outta here. i switched over from when he made a song called I Let Nas Down
Â
Drake was in the exact same place as Cole at the beginning of his career, hence his first album being a weed plate. but he wised up quickly and learnt how to write songs, not make journal entries. Â he writes a lot about himself, but in a way that allows people to turn up and live vicariously through him, a credit to his success. he the new Jay Z in many respect, except this one appeals to girls and white guys too.
Â
Â
Kendrick is different. he a writer, like a novelist. Â GKMC is hands down one of the best HH albums of the last 10 years, but he wrote that like a script for a movie, as opposed to putting his life on the page. his life just aint that interesting. he a great rapper with the best intentions and TPAB was my album of last year (across all genres). Â but Kendrick still a student of the game. he just top of the class.
Â
Â
i hope this make sense to you. cos its crystal to me.

This is where you messed up and clearly show you dont even listen to the music.
Forest Hills is not about how he made it in rap lol. If you're gonna come into a debate atleast know what youre talking about mate. Forest is about his journey as a rapper, how he was chasing the "American dream" and when he finally got it he realised that he was still not happy. He is trying to teach us that all we need to be happy is love not money/women/cars/chains etc..
Let nas down is not on forest hills..further evidence you don't wtf you're talking about
Your comprehension skills are very low tbh. I didn't say you said lupe isn't a nice guy, I'm asking you what makes cole a nice guy rapper but not lupe. If being on a mission means you're not a nice guy rapper then cole should not be on that list you made. He's on a mission to teach his fans that American dream isn't real.
Go and listen to the album again and go and watch the HBO episodes he put out cos right now you're chatting shit son
