harry pothed such a sh*t actor

woman in black was pants

the sound was pretty good when the jumpy bits came but all in all was weak

and yeh the ending to the grey was a pisstake... like they ran out of budget or summin

couldn't agree more

went to the cinema last night to watch shame, but arrived late cos of the long company, so ended up watching this.

was just lacking.

yeah that

utter wank

Tom Hanks is pretty good

but the kid Oskar is soo f*ck*ng annoying!

they spend most of the movie accommodating his fragile mental state whilst everyone else puts their grieving to one side - showering him with undeserved affection left, right and centre

Sandra Bullock character is soulless, you get absolutely nothing from her throughout the whole film except from one small bit where she 'argues' with the kid

but yeah, its sh*t

Long shot but anyone know any post-modern films? Trying to do some research and work on them.

Mulholland dr. And most of lynchs work

Brazil

Pulp fiction and memento possibly cos of the narrative

12 monkeys maybe but I still haven't watched it beginning to end, struck me as PM tho

Run Lola run

Good one, knew Pulp Fiction would be one in-fact most of Tarantino's flicks are.

Not seen Brazil, been in my collection for a while.

i was gonna say all of them but if i remember donnie darko was weird but in a conventional way, will have to watch again

fight club - there is a difference between a postmodern film and a film about a postmodern world, a character having existenstial angst etc, again the story was quite convention

eternal sunshine - imight be the most arguably postmodern out of all of them, but again cos all that mish mash, fragmented narrative was set quite clearly in an unconscious world thats supposed to be like that again i would say is not necessarily a post modern film, also jim carrey due to his natural affability disarms your confusion and fear, whereas the characters in say a lynch film exacerbate the terror

Yeh hear what you're saying and tbh I'm not totally clued up about the subject. But they do all have post modern elements or characteristics, I guess its all about how strict you apply the criteria.
