You get a different box and just connect it to a virgin cable Yeh.
The cable needs to be active so you need to keep Internet from virgin or pay for a basic TV subscription otherwise your line will go off at any time.
Kryptview boxes don't even require a card sharing subscription. They connect to there own server so you only pay for the box and your set.
HD channels still work and will work on virgin untill they find a way to lock it off from their side.

only got the box for the sky exclusive channels
Rumour is someone has a 'fix' but they're waiting for SKY to show their hand and confirm their final pairing encryption.
Sky are apparently trying diff types hence why they phased the HD lock off.
But this is just a rumour and it could be next month or next year or never.
SD channels package still cheaper than SKY but I just can't watch anything other than HD now on my 50"

Just switched to virgin with my box all hd channels are still working on virgin so I think most people should switch if you want to watch your channels in hd. As soon as there is a fix i will switch back I've even got the virgin skin epg great stuff.

Yeah, hearing its a cat and mouse type thing, the fixers dont wanna release just yet in case SKY flip it, and SKY are being coy on the final pairing system.

bt sport never went off but all the sky channels in HD did....willl rescan and check

I've stuck with the sky, went through all the channels on my receiver and replaced the locked HD channels with their SD equivalent.
Still get ESPN and BT Sport in HD, as well as the terrestrial channels.
Yeah it's a little bit shit not getting HD everywhere else, but it only cost £50 for the year

In the same boat. I'd go virgin but my building dont have their cable.
I'll carry on until there's a fix for HD
