Just got this weeks shortlist aint read the whole thread anyone heard of Banner's was recommended here is their website http://bannersrestaurant.com/ looks like a proper restrant not sure if it is a proper caribbean but has plenty of dishes shows the potential. Looks like it gets loads of yuppy and shorditch types going there from the decor

been eating there for about 6years, pricey but food f*ck*ng BANGS

its not a everyday spot but if u got a link or watever its a moesh, dey serve bangin cocktails aswell,

I've always maintained no one should ever set foot in Cummin up on New Cross road, ever since my boy choked on a piece of rubber inside a f*ck*ng pattie a fews years back...

But today they set new levels of sh*t food, my cousin was halfway through his meal, bit into a leg and then had some mortified look on his face. Spat out the food and ran to the bathroom without saying a word, I was baffed, looked at the food, looked fine nice even, waited for him to come back... By this time I was cracking up asking whats wrong, he just went smell it, I sniffed it, smelt fine, then I sniffed the leg he had bit into, actually smelt like sh*t, literally, human faeces, as if someone had wiped their arse not washed their hands and then handled the chicken...

It is a white middle class haven but the jerk burger and curry goat rotti is on point bit pricey but worth it...place down the road calls rhythm that badically try's to sell bog standard yard food but co's u sit and read a menu they think they can charge u twice the price...I hear the food is mediocre.

Turtle bay in brixton opened couple weeks ago. Went to do some recon.

Due to the rastafy me malarchy and the ownership i was skeptical

Didn't expect the food to be so awful tho

I ordered the escovitch fish. Wasn't escovitch fish remotely

When i said this to the waitress (after being asked about 6 times by different waitresses interrupting my meal) i was told that the food was jamaican inspired an not jamaican an she keeps havin to tell people that.

I let her know that they should rename the dish if it isn't actually supposed to be escovitch

Same with the jerk lamb (which was practically inedible)

After we didnt want to get desert the waitresses started acting maaad renk. We were not rude at aaalll. We gave balanced feedback i.e. the cocktails and chips were good. The waitress was actin so insulted like she cook the food herself

Theres a mixture of staff in there but our waitresses were European

Will never return. Hope it dies a death

tbh I go to the turtle bay in walthamstow quite regularly 

 

if you take it on face value only then you are good to go

 

theres no need to go in there with some elitist mentality your gonna end up being very dissapointed

My dad wanted to take us there but I told him I'd heard the food isn't all that so we went elsewhere.

I think if I ever go it'll be for drinks.

Just ordered from some Trinidadian place in Ealing using just eat.

Order got cancelled, rang 3 times no answer.

Contacted just eat they said no answer, the order actually timed out on the system lmao and refunded me credit.

Seems they just didn't wanna turn up for work 2day smfh.
