Take Nigeria, ive been doing some business there recently, It has a top 30 world economy, but also a bottom 20 world poverty rate. Nigeria's senate is the highest paid senate in the world. They are officially paid $1.5 million a year, not counting the kickbacks and contracts they will get cuts off. It has a top 30 world economy, but also a bottom 20 poverty level. Elected government officials (who are the most corrupt) cannot be impeached. They have immunity while in office.
