You either upgrade your car/house/clothes/holidays or you put more money away for a "rainy day" or to save towards something else. Day to day life doesnt change that much. / Unless you're one of those bummy niggas who follows people through barriers, or tries to barter 10p off their rubicon everytime they go corner shop. I started my job a year and half ago on £20K and have now had about 4 pay increases. Like you I wanna get my qualifications so I leave and bump up my salary. I use this to calculate monthly pay. Woke up late, had to skip breakfast to get in on time, get to work had to finish an estimate to present to the project team in their office for 130pm to review it before we present it to the main client at 2pm. Bare in mind i was told my deadline for this was 30th October, which then changed to 11th, and then became today.1130 im still editing and changing things. 12.00 im still editing and changing things. start printing 1230, printer breaks down. Had to run to a different department and practically beg them to let me print out 6 copies of my 100 page report, which I haven't had time to read over and neither has anyone above me. Manage to get to their office for 140ish. It's one of those proper apartheid offices as well (which i hate) door people were some form of asian, front desk reception were black, as soon as I got to the meeting room, just middle aged white folk. Knew it was gonna be one of them days. Sit down guys are grilling me about the content of the report, saying they think my costs are too high, my assumptions are wrong, picking out formatting, spelling and grammar mistakes. It was one of them ones where i couldnt back myself as well because I'd prepared the ting in such a rush, they'd know as much about it as me. So after these guys tear me apart for about 40 minutes, they agree we are just going to run the client through it in its draft form and see if the numbers stack up with what he was expecting. At this point im thinking, i'm getting torn a new arsehole when we walk out of here and im pretty angry cos now i havent had breakfast or lunch. Client is delayed for 30 mins, these guys start talking about f*ck*ng sailing. I kid you not. racing boats. I knew it would turn into this kinda ting. Manage to divert them back to football so i dont feel like an illegal alien. Client turns up looks at the bottom line and is like ths is alright, from previous experience I had X amount in my head and this isn't far off. Fills me with confidence that you guys actually know what you're doing. I felt to stand up and shout f*ck you bitches. Went through the ting, he said he was impressed at how quickly we'd pulled together this amount of information and this level of detail in such a short amount of time. They are sick still. / Had the first day of my new one day a week job yesterday. Enjoying getting actual accounts exp that I'm getting paid for. Finance manager is over safe and I get lunch for free there as they have an in house catering service.
