Those were players i could think of off the top. There is a ridicolous amount if i looked on wiki. Also most of those players made a bad decision going chelsea. Had they gon elsewhere they could have been better players. Of course you can say they won trophies like Mikel for example but had Mikel gone Utd he would have won trophies as well. Reckon he would have been a bigger name at Utd and a better player. Regardless obviously Mikel has played first team football for chelsea for a hot minute i doubt he would complain about his career. Chelsea isnt a good place for young attacking players they tend to get lost in the volumes. Swp would have had a better career had he gone spurs or arsenal. There is a case for most of them man

Every club has a model, the goal is ultimately always to get results for the first team.

 

All these clubs take punts, some of them have academy's overloaded with players, Chelsea model is definitely a on steroids version of this and it certainly doesn't say much for Chelsea's belief in their ability to nuture or scout players.

 

But if they can get results for the first-team eventually whats the difference?

When Kagawa plays in his natural position as a #10 with our attacks going through the middle he looks impressive and makes the team play better

When he's played out of position on the left wing in team that has gameplan that relies on crosses mainly from a right winger who doesn't know how to cross or beat a fullback on a regular basis he obviously doesn't look impressive.
