I'm a Royalist Mame. We've had a Monarchy here for hundreds of years so asking me who appoints The Queen means nothing to me. She's the Queen of England and GB through birthright and as a Brit I accept that. I know republican minded people want her gone but you lot are the minority and we would rather have you gone than her. It's part of being British IMO.

Ok so firstly we can accept that you have ignored my point and facts about Government advisors being unelected despite having a massive impact on public policy.

Facts about the house of Lords.

1) 2nd biggest legislative body in the world after Chinas congress.

2) 5 times more people from London than those in the North East.

3) Costs about 25 million a year in expenses from taxpayers money

4) 71%+ of Lords belong to a party. About

5) 25% + of Lords are mps that failed to win a seat in a Democratic election. So were appointed instead

6) Twice as many ex Royal family staff are in the house of lords to compared to former skilled workers

7) David Cameron himself has said HOL seat shard should at least match HOC

8) Lib Dems want HOL non elected to be phased out

9) Labour want a minimum % of elected seats

10) Only 29 out of the 800+ Lords are under 50

11) Only a 1/4 are women.

How is the above democratic, reflective of society or economically fair? Being able to claim £300 a day for just popping into the HOL.

Again all parties have said it requires change, some more severe than others. Yet you think it is fine that they are all unelected and not held accountable to anybody.

Maybe we should lead by example, make it elected. Then we can show the EU why those in charge should also be elected?

Btw last public poll only 10% thought HOL should stay unelected (two years ago)

I don't think anyone is sat here saying Britain is perfect............. But I am BRITISH and I would like my country and it's laws to be controlled by THE BRITISH because I live in BRITAIN....... How your argument is meant to get me to say fine I don't want the opportunity to vote my Government into power and would rather be dictated to by Europeans I never had any say in is beyond me. You don't like all them points about Britain but have no problem with the EU?

Does what the monarchy generate for the economy via tourism etc outweigh what it cost to sustain them?

genuine question.

Probably be different figures around but one I checked says they cost us around £33 Million per year to keep. Republicans argue that figure is closer to £200 Million taking into consideration security etc..... The British Tourism agency reported that they bring in around £500 Million per year. If those figures are true then they are definitely beneficial to the country. But personally that isn't a big issue for me...... I like the tradition, I like having a Queen, I like the history. That's enough for me.

Could you point out where I said I don't have any problems with the EU?

This is why I don't bother engaging in discussions with you. You have a short attention span, limited intelligence and limited comprehension skills.

You've ignored my last two posts now. I won't bother with any more. Enjoy your day.

I am also BRITISH too btw. I want what's best for MY COUNTRY. So you can keep your racism to yourself lad.

one side says it brings in this much, costs this much, bla bla bla DONT BE SCARED INTO KEEPING THE ROYAL FAMILY, GIVE THE BRITISH PEOPLE MORE POWER BY KICKING THE ROYALS OUT  funny how the same argument works

What is the argument for the money the EU brings in? As far as I am concerned no remain voter has any valid argument on that. Free Trade might be beneficial, but we want a Free Trade agreement without being dictated to or a closer union and loss of powers to them.... So the Economic argument dies there, especially since we would be able to go do our own better deals with the world and make even more. And all the scaremongering about oh the will punish us and won't do deals with us is bullshit when they sell us almost £100 Billion more, the balls in our court. We don't need them like they need us, that's why people like the Netherlands are hoping we vote leave so it crumbles. How does giving them £20 Bill and getting £8 Bill back just to be ruled by them make any sense lol.

I mean the same Netherlands who voted overwhelmingly to reject the EU's expansionism and were ignored by the EU. But of course you don't give a fuck about the will of the people that is why you are in support of the Globalist Elite and doing their bidding for them.

I assumed with all your political talk you would of actually followed the news and seen this a while back when they were up in arms over the EU and Ukraine and them turning on the establishment. Google it.

And if you are so concerned for Democracy and Britain why is it you have no ambition to fix HOME but support being dictated to by unellected Undemocratic EU Elites... I'm super confused by that. Are you Remain or Leave? lol

Googled, apart from the racist Dutch guy above and the Dutch Daily Mail, I can't find anything other than this from an INDEPENDENT DUTCH think tank.

"A Brexit would have a “severe” impact on the Dutch economy, because it is linked to the U.K. more than to the rest of the EU, according to areport by a Dutch public think-tank published Thursday.

In total, the Netherlands stands to lose up to €10 billion if Brits vote to leave the EU at the June 23 referendum, or 1.2 percent of the Dutch GDP by 2030, said the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB)."

Him and his party I think were part of starting a push for a vote on it. It got so many signatures and they then reached over the 30% turnout needed for it with 61% being against the Ukraine deal............ Now to me you come across as a hard left, and we know the hard left only believe in free speech when it is them talking, so of course I know you probably take a stance that those 61% who turned out to vote don't matter and shouldn't be heard.

Here's a question:

who clearly benefits from a British exit? (like without need of opinionated argument)

We would mostly but maybe the World would in a way IMO.

I'll use an argument I don't personally care for that much but one that the Left can't fuck with, and that's the idea of treating Immigration fairly on a points based system and not discriminating against people round the world whilst allowing anyone in Europe to walk in.

Being able to make nice trade deals with the rest of the world on our own terms could be good for us and other countries outside the EU.

Not moving towards this Superstate and having this secretly planned EU Army would probably benefit the world, especially Russia with all this saber rattling.

Everyone out there who is trying to run a small business? Since our Government, The EU and USA are trying to shaft everyone with TTIP.
