WHY?Being a Newcastle supporter I watch Parker a lot more than anyone here, and believe you me he is NOT quality on the ball, ever since that glandular fever ( when Roeder took over, February last year.) he hasn't been the same. Maybe the fever has f*cked him up or he has lost his legs f*ck knows but he is not the same player he was when we first bought him.For £8.5M and bringing in Barton for £4.5M would be top business, why?Because Barton is twice the player Parker is, Barton can influence the team to play better, he plays with his heart and has passion, he does this at City even though he slews them on a regs.I know that Barton is a bit of a c*ck end but so was Diouf and all of a sudden Diouf said that Allardyce has sorted him out big time and he would be happy to follow him at Newcastle. True he hasn't been the same player in the second half of the season but seriously he is the teams heartbeat. Don't even watch stats too much but he has one of the highest tackle success rates in the league. No he's not a DM more of a box to box and like i've said Barton is more dynamic and energetic but definately not as classy as parker; yes he can influence a game positively but he can also give away needless freekicks and get sent off - a bit too wreckless for my liking . Parker also has to play with uninteligent ballers and often has little options when in possesion so has to play a square or backwards pass. Barton would be a good signing, but i'd prefer to keep Parker and put Barton or dyer next to him. Necksta Posted May 31, 2007 Report Share Posted May 31, 2007 Parker does have time on the ball and he still chooses the wrong options, watch how many times he contemplates a decision when he is at West Ham, and you'll be like f*cking hell man takes the piss, still if the rumours are true about NRC leaving, I'd much prefer Parker in my midfield than him but in 6 months time you'll read this again and you'll be thinking sh*t man was right.
