FRANK LAMPARD insists he will not be driven out of international football by England's fickle fans. The Chelsea midfielder was disappointed to be booed by large sections of the Wembley crowd before last Friday's high-profile friendly against Brazil.Yet Lampard really hit rock-bottom in the stands of Barcelona's Olympic Stadium three months ago, as England laboured to a 3-0 win over Andorra. The former Footballer of the Year was not playing that night. But he still took such fearful abuse from nearby England followers that he was forced to take refuge in the dressing room for the second half. Now he is determined to win the supporters back and takes his inspiration from the way David Beckham has turned things around. He admitted: 'I suppose the abuse is now a part of playing for England. This time last year I was named as the supporters' Player of the Year for the second season on the spin. Today I'm getting booed. That's how English football is. But I've no problem with it.'I remember people wanted David Beckham out of the team not so long ago. Now he has just been given a hero's welcome.'Owen Hargreaves and Peter Crouch have had it in the past. It's not helpful to the team or the players involved and it is a bit upsetting when it happens to you.'There's nothing you can do but be big enough to take it.'I think it all started at the World Cup last year, because I didn't score. So now I'm fighting to get back in there and start nicking goals again. It didn't happen against Brazil but, hopefully, there will be more games in the future to put things right.'Brazilian skipper Gilberto Silva is firmly backing Lampard to beat the boo-boys.The Arsenal midfield star said: 'Sometimes we have criticism in Brazil. I think the important thing is not to absorb the pressure and let it into our minds.'You are there on the pitch to be judged. But if you do your job well and you're 100 per cent, you will go home and sleep well.'This is the important thing. Not to keep the pressure on you.'Lampard accepts Friday's 1-1 draw with Ronaldinho, Kaka and chums will count for nothing if England fail to win in Estoniaon Wednesday. And he knows there is still a lot of hard work to do after the miserable start to their campaign to qualify for Euro 2008.He added: We do still have to win the fans back. They showed their frustration in Andorra and we'd be fools not to recognise that.'We have to perform as we're capable of. We know we can play some fantastic football. But that hasn't been translated on to the pitch in some of our recent games.'It wasn't a vintage or classy performance against Brazil but the determination was there and that's what the fans want to see.'Yet Lampard fears the travelling fans will be quick to turn if Steve McClaren's team fail to take instant control against Estonia. The abuse started after just 15 minutes of England's last competitive game and Lampard warned: 'Estonia are a better team than Andorra and people cannot be thinking it's no good if we're not winning after 15 minutes. It's going to be a tough game and the only thing that matters is getting the three points.'We want to play good football, to score in the first 10 minutes and win at a stroll. But it might not be like that. Weâââ‰â¢ll win, though, if we show the passion and desire we showed against Brazil.'Lampard also remains adamant he can still be an effective partner for Steven Gerrard, despite claims their styles are too similar. He said: 'Maybe we have a freer rein to get forward in the Premiership. With England, we need to be more disciplined.'Â
